Can't argue with that.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

It's a shame no one called in for Criss Angel.

Tom, am I crazy or have you cooled on your fandom of Jay Reatard over time?

I noticed this, too (since I mentioned Jay on the air).

I was late to the party on that guy, but I love him now.

he's been around the block before.  he's been in about 20 different bands/projects; he's a machine.  the only downside to him hitting it big (which seems to be snowballing very quickly), is that he'll be out of town more frequently.

I really like Lost Sounds.  Not so much his early stuff like the Reatards.  What is he, 14 years old in those albums?

yeah, i think so.  he was pretty young.  ive read articles where he has said it was kind of intimidating because he was real young playing with all these older cats, so despite how much fun playing out rock'n'roll antics like vomiting on stage are, he knew these guys had grown out of that phase already.  and in the reatard days, it was very much about making noise to make noise.  nowadays, he's into harmonies and making things work with melodies and stuff, making good, rough, lo-fi pop/rock.

granted, these are all things ive read in articles and picked up living in memphis.

I bought the Lost Sounds self-titled at a Jay Reatard show earlier this year, and it's been in heavier rotation than anything that has come out in '08. Awesome stuff.

I think Blood Visions is his crowning acheivement (so far), but that LP is a close second.  Final Solutions stunk.
