I saw a cage with guards being wheeled out. I heard chains being rattled. I'd just assumed...
In all seriousness, I did not see Spike. I saw everyone except for Spike, (I even met James).
I even had an eye on the guy from Detroit who was selling Doo Wop 45's, but no one that might have resembled the mental profile I have ever materialized.
Spike, answer us! Wither Spike?

Did you like James' toupee?
Did you ask him why he is such a factory wrapped douche?

James had wisely kept a hat on. He seemed to know that eager hands would be trying to pull his rug off. Those desperate types always have sharpened instincts.
If it was my radio show he was trying to pull apart, I would have gone after him with everything I had at my disposal. But he was on his best behavior, and had Ramsey keeping a short leash on him... and any friend of Ramsey gets my benefit of the doubt.

Wow, Spoony! I'm jealous. But in the same curious way that I secretly want to watch W. or American Carol, or subject myself to Fox news.
If there was advent calendar (like John Stewart's last night) but instead of candy, there was a picture of James, Spike, and that guy from Port Richey, FL, I still don't think I'd open the tiny doors.
In the end, it's like film adaptations of books, I don't want to associate real faces with their fictional counterparts. I just want to imagine them as they are in my head, or how you described them!

I agree, actually seeing Spike would ruin his mystique.

I didn't get to meet Spike, but I did get to say hello to Jason G, Laurie B, Tom S, Spoony G, and a host of other AA pals. I even bought a record. Good times for sure. Wish I had seen you, Ramsey S.

Someone in a Newbridge is for Lovers shirt asked me if Spike had a recipe in the WFMU Cookbook.

I seriously love the fact that Spike was there but no one noticed him. THE LEGEND CONTINUES!
