Im assuming the answer is 'no' so far, so I will modify my request: does anybody know of any sort of toy/gadget that can replicate a talkbox/robot voice? I am open to any sort of toy store microphone thing.

Thanks!

Tom.

I seem to remember the FOT chipping in a few Xmases ago for this, which I believe had a 'robot' setting.

If that effect isn't up to snuff, try and get your hands on a  MicroKorg. It is a cheap little synth that a musician friend might have on hand. Has a built in Vocoder:

Heck, you can always pick one up at Guitar Center and then return it. I believe they have a 30 day return policy.

or just try the local dollar store for one of these:

I will check out the box, which is in my locker at the station. I am also going to check out the dollar store for the voice changer!

Thanks, Chris.

Just came across this thread now.  If the effects box doesn't work out, I have one of those voice changers, but I also have a small Nord keyboard with a bunch of vocoder emulations.  It is very easy to use, all you need to do is plug a mic into one of the inputs.

Tom, PM / email me if needed!

Hey Tom, I'm pretty sure I can get you a toy microphone/voice changer this weekend. I believe I saw such an item at World Market in Oakland. I plan on going there this weekend. I think it was only 8 or 9 dollars. I'll let you know.

I apologize in advance if World Market doesn't have it anymore.

I think I'm okay now - my quest for this thing has run its course and I'm too tired to continue. I need it for Sunday night. It's shocking that no area toy store and/or dollar store has one of those voice changer things.

But again, I am tired.

Thanks for everybody's advice on the matter. It is truly appreciated.

Tom have you tried one of those spy stores? They have portable voice changers for phones and stuff. I see one here for like 40 bucks.
