I love the podcast because I listen to it while stripping paint in my house.

I wish that there were more classic shows in mp3 format, but I understand that that is a bunch of work and no one is offering money.

There are programs out there that will download the streaming feeds of the archives and convert them into mp3, m4a's or m4b's if you so wish.  I've been catching up on the earliest shows at work on my ipod this way.  I can usually listen to 2 or three shows in a shift.

Thanks a ton! I rarely get a chance to listen in live, so the podcast is usually my only real option. Your effort is appreciated.

Thank you, fellow island dweller! I got hooked on the Best Show around August of 2006 thanks to the podcast. I've been listening to the show live ever since but now that I am being bombarded with "responsibility" it has been hard to listen to the whole three hours of the triple M's - so thank you, you have made it possible for me to enjoy the Best Show in these dark times.

If that isn't objectionable to anyone from TBS or WFMU yu should do it, that would be freaking awesome.

So -- these programs grab the stream and convert it in the background of the computer? Does it do it in real-time? What's this program called?

I wouldn't mind having a good chunk of the archive on Itunes, you could even leave the music intact. Thank you for your work.

Uhh..no I/they couldn't...there's that little "issue" known as the RIAA, ya know...

I have the entire archives converted and edited in podcast-ready mp3 format...now if Tom could take a 5 year break from the live show, we can actually get the entire thing out there on the podcast feed! How awesome would that be?

You're telling a guy who is going through posts from 2 years ago that someone spent "way too much time on the board."  I think you got hammer your point home a bit harder there, fletch mun.

I would not survive LA traffic without the Best Show podcast (and the Comedy & Everything Else podcast. i'm in my car a LOT, but that's another story).
THANK YOU and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
