At the next Gathering of the FOT.

I'm requesting there be air hockey.
Tom talked a big game the other night, and I want to see if he can live up to it.

I can say from experience that Tom would likely wreck the competition. I grew up in Atlantic County and played a lot. I thought I was good. I was crushed.

I would like to think that I would dominate in foosball. I think that I spend a significant percentage of 2009 honing up on my kicker skills at work.

I'm terrible at foosball. When we were on tour in Europe every night the locals would challange us, and every night I would get crushed.

I'm good now because of work.  When I was just out of college, I played some locals at a bar and they beat us 10-0 the first game.  Then in the second game, they were up 2-0 and I just smashed the ball as hard as I could from the defense and put it in.

The guys we were playing just walked away.  I feel... triumphant... about that, even all these years later, and even given the fact that we gave up 12 straight goals.

Does anyone know if there is a tentative date for this year's Gathering of the FOT yet? I'm going to be in NYC/ New Jersey toward the end of September and would like to see if could work the event into my trip. It looked like so much fun last year!
