I've posted without introducing myself. HOW RUDE.
« on: March 11, 2010, 03:27:04 PM »
HELLO PEOPLE OF TOM.

I'm Nina the slackmistress. Sometimes Nina from Los Angeles. Sometimes wife of Will BetheBoy, also known as Will from Los Angeles. (Actually, I think I'm always wife of Will BetheBoy, but I wasn't paying close attention when we did that whole marriage vow thing.)

I went from a "this is Will's thing" to "sometimes I'll listen" to "okay, the Friends of Tom seem pretty okay" to "I WILL NOT ANSWER THE PHONE ON TUESDAY NIGHTS." It only took me three years.

I've called twice (once for the Therese & Mike Show on Bad Neighbors, once to TBS where I told a story about a woman who thought I was a drug addict.  I have no idea if it was funny or not, because to be perfectly honest, I had a bucketful of wine prior to picking up the phone. Also, Will made me do it.)

Our dog DaisyJDog has never called into TBS, but she has pledged to WFMU.

So there you have it. Do you have a burning desire to know more? You should probably talk to a doctor about that.

Cheers,
Nina the slackmistress from Los Angeles

My wife has posted on the forum. The transformation is complete, she is one of us.

The fact that we can now enjoy the best show together has made me very happy.

My wife is somewhere between the first two steps - she likes the bits from the CDs when I play them but I can't see her ever listening to the entire show, though this seems less out of the realm of possibility than I once thought. Thanks for instilling me with new hope!
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU.

Meeting (either in person or via Twitter) other FOTs helped. Mr. theBoy and I do a lot of live-tweeting stuff, so when people would talk about what was going on during the show on Twitter, I had to tune in. Well, that and the helicopter rides.

It's looking like we have reserved friends-time for Monday & Tuesday, September 27-28. We'll most likely leave for Chicago early Wednesday. There has been talk of a Mets game on Monday and perhaps an Iron Monkey meetup to listen to the show on Tuesday...

I livetweeted the Oscars this year and PFT REWTEETED ONE OF MY TWEETS and I felt like, for that single moment in time, I had won the Internet.
