Also it's a FOT not an FOT.

If you're referring to my "L.A. FOT's" post I made a long time ago, I appreciate your vigilance but also invite you to suck it please excuse my grammatical error.

No, it is "An FOT", because in acronyms, the F sound attract the "An", because "F" starts with the vowel sound of "E". "Eff". "An FOT"

I am not usually a grammar hound, but I know that.

It's "an FOT" if you say each letter, as a brief poll in the chat the other week confirmed many people do.  I say "a FOT" because I pronounce the abbreviation like a word rhyming with "blot."  Both are correct; they simply reveal something about how a person vocalizes the acronym.

And, though you no longer need my confirmation, yes, Andy, the plural of "FOT" is "FOT."

But then it's an initialism and not an acronym.

Tom went to an ICP concert as a UNICEF ambassador.

If it's good enough for MILFs it's good enough for FOTs.

But then it's an initialism and not an acronym.

I refer you to Webster's:

Quote
a word (as NATO, radar, or snafu) formed from the initial letter or letters of each of the successive parts or major parts of a compound term; also: an abbreviation (as FBI) formed from initial letters: INITIALISM.
