Title: Hey from South Dakota
Post by: elvino_ray on May 28, 2015, 03:47:29 PM
Hi Everyone. New fan since the relaunch of the show, and it has taken over my life. I used to listen to several different podcasts, but now all I want to listen to is the best show. Thankfully (dauntingly) there are 1,500 hours in the WFMU archives. I had a question for the long-time FOT's. Is Tom dead set against any type of Kickstartr or Gofundme? I think he would get huge support from his fans. I cannot believe he did this for nothing for WFMU for so long. It's one thing to just get on the air and wing it, but all the writing he and John did? Un-believable. The rewards wouldn't really need to be that much and I am sure many of his friends in the biz (music and comedy) would come through in a big way. It could simply be for the show to continue and everyone who works on it to draw a salary from it. Radiotopia has huge success with their annual kickstarter. He and John deserve compensation for all the wonderful entertainment they have provided and I don't think anyone would begrudge them that. Just a thought. It has probably been covered elsewhere on the board, and I apologize if I am covering well trod ground. Any other SD FOT's hanging around?

That's not his way.
