Title: Best Show 24/7

Let's speculate here.

Tom's calls to other stations? More early unaired material?

Ooh, I wasn't even thinking about Tom's prank calls. Will Doug in Dunellen make it in at least?

There's that one track on the box set, "The Pastor's Audiobook" where they say they did a handful other off-air bits like it. In addition to that I'm hoping for some "lost" material from the shows that they took down whenever they put out a new CD of calls (if not the unedited versions of some of those calls then at least clips from the rest of those shows, assuming that there was anything considered notable in them by the curators).

What I want to know is if the stream will have a schedule that shows what's coming up or if it's going to be, for lack of a better term, "randomized". Will we just have to tune in, listen and see what comes up?

If one year of the show equals even 24 hours of material (just in phony calls by Wurster, Earles, Benjamin, or others), That's only 16 days of programming. I'm sure it will be more highlights other than fake calls  but the prospect alone will have me keeping my recorder running to catch rare/unreleased material.

A schedule/archive of the streams would be amazing, at least for the first month or so, until all the kinks are worked out. Lord knows I can't record 24/7 but I will try to grab what I can in the hopes of grabbing something new/unheard.

But yes, like you mentioned - I look forward to rare archive material.

Listening to some old clips today, and man.  The Feltdown.

I love Wally, but Tom is absolutely on FI-YAH here... I have to imagine that Mike was DYING in the back.  So worth a re-listen if it's been awhile.

Best Show deep cuts, outtakes, and side projects? Will it include WFMU material? Prove It All Night? Cherry Blossom Clinic? Depravity's Rainbow? That would potentially help WFMU attract new listeners.

A month or so ago a caller fell asleep while on hold. Tom joked about falling asleep on air himself... will we get to listen to Tom snoring on the "Live Mic" Stream? I can hardly wait to fall asleep to the sound of a sleeping Tom.

The "lost episodes" that the early calls were taken from (with full-length versions of The Gorch, et. al?).

I hope it's just 24 hours of open phone Tuesdays, replete with Tom GOMPing suckers while keeping it 100% Jersey sleaze.

I am hoping there's a "Howard 101"-style channel, which is dedicated to nothing but Faceless Man.

Reminds me of the show where Tom did a cell phone broadcast while him and Officer Tom cruised the streets blaring Led Zep's Houses of the Holy in search of The Leader while teens did burnouts in the parking lots of convenience stores.

Then gave them money for candy.

I know Tom was once hypnotized on the air by a caller and fell asleep for the last twenty or so minutes of a show...

Can't get this to work at all in any of my browsers. Any way there is a URL I could utilize in a media player?

For me it works in Chrome (both PC and Max) but not in Safari.

Hi everyone, long time no see....loving the 24/7, but does it seem like whole show broadcasts that come up are usually from the last year or so? I'd love to hear more of the very early shows. Am I imagining it or did he even do like interviews with authors for the whole show, like one about Nostradamus and another about Shakespeare, I think?

I was kind of disappointed it doesn't play any of the old WFMU shows.

Pretty sure they play clips from the old WFMU shows. Maybe there is some kind of legal restriction for playing full shows.

I'm hoping that things start getting mixed up a little more. I usually listen early in the day on monday and tuesday and I keep getting the same chunks. I've listened to some a couple of times, but after that I gotta find something else to listen to. Bits I've heard waaaay too much since the launch: Cliff Peterson, Star Wars Insider, Confused Producers. Also, keep getting the same full shows: 25 most coked out and Tom in Toronto to name a couple.

But I've also stumbled upon some amazing things that I never heard or forgot about. James in studio is super funny and Why Sergeant Pepper's Sucks is all-time classic radio. It's the luck of the draw I guess.
