Since January 2012, Scharpling has become vocal about his time in Best Show, and has often spoken negatively about the show, its members and in some cases its outspoken fans, during conversations on Best Show fansite Friends of Tom. Although Tom maintains no relationship with his former broadcasters, he has stated that he has no hard feelings towards associate producer Michael Lisk. However, Scharpling has spoken less fondly of WFMU. Scharpling states that his relationship with WFMU was flawed due to them not letting him back on the air after his long absence from broadcasting. Scharpling mentioned during his conversation with fans on Friends of Tom that he had contacted then-former broadcaster Pat Byrne about a Best Show reunion but Byrne refused the offer. Tom also confirmed his comments that he left Best Show due to "negative attitudes" and that he "couldn't take it anymore".

this must have been some copy about how the ex drummer of Korn couldn't get back together with Korn but bizzaro worlded to actual world Tom and his actual broadcast home. I can't imagine Tom harbors ill will towards WFMU, his comments on the documentary notwithstanding.

Sex and Broadcasting? What were his comments on that?
