.....CRUSHED IT. Utterly blew away a metric f@#kton of fan theories, exposed the central galactic conflict as a family not getting along. This series does to animation in theme what Battleship Potemkin did to silent cinema, all through metaphor.

(....And by "metaphor", the whole thing can be read as a generalized coming-out story for a gay or trans person, but the coding is flipped and Steven is the first cis male gem out of a sisterhood of beings, which allows R. Sugar to express all these things without the network crawling all over it.)
