I titled it Scharpling's theme and I just re-did it.
You can hear it here: http://blueshat.net/best.mp3
I can post the lyrics, if you are interested.
-
Are you from Glen Mills, PA? Because if you are, I was wondering where the young people hang out in that town. My grandparents/family live there and my brother and I find ourselves driving aimlessly around Glen Mills a few times a year looking for something to do or a place to go.
-
Yes, and West Chester there's a bunch of young people at coffee shops and the like. And there's a bunch of bars depending on how old young is.
-
We're young, but we're old enough for bars

Hugman: Thanks a lot man.
OMAR:
Scharpling's Theme:
B E S T
Show's back
and you best believe
Tom plays the dopest tracks
then puts em back in the sleeves.
He won't cut you no slack
cause he's the number one.
Scharplings army begun
but it soon evolved.
Are you a friend of tom or are you no one at all
and if you know one at all you can best believe
that if you try to dupe or to trick, or deceive the man
pretty soon you're gonna get off his phone.
I'm just sitting in my room, cold one to the dome
on the archive, or when I listen live
I could get to new bridge commons, if it was worth the drive,
But nems the worst turf I've ever been on. I've been jamin on this song
for a bit too long.
Far from philly, but not far from freaks.
The worlds shot to heck and the turlet has a leak.
Tom Schrarplings talking listen when the man speaks.
Chorus
Scharplings on radio dial forgotten.
Listening to the voice of the down trodden.
You've paid for nothing, but you've gotten the best.
All of the beasts that this joe sixpack bests
and each of the times that the show passed the test
it Scharplings shoulders on which it rests.
Hot Rocking Ronnie, Philly Boy Roy, and the Gorch,
Bryce, Lord of the Rings, Bob, Thor, and Tor,
Thirty-three and a third and Bishop Fontana,
Toms standing at the toplike tony montana
like get ready to meet my little friend.
Best show sets the trend, till eleven when it ends
weekly, and you'll never defeat the
supreme dj prowess cause you're dealing with the best.
You better believe that we've been blessed.
Wfmu and never settle for less than
the best show on wfmu.
Chorus
Climbed up to the top of his cardboard comedy ladder.
Talking bout bad, no ones ever been badder.
It's Monday night and I'm getting the shakes.
On for years and always raising the stakes
and who's on the job when the rest take a break?
S C H A R P L I N G
Yes oh yes and never settle for less than
the best
the best
the best
Top of the food chain
and top of the stack
like a handburger made
out of rocket fuel batter.
The next batter better step up,
better ante up soon.
Over a custom bed
or an aimee man tune,
Tom's getting better, but
he's already the best
and wait for the topic that is unless
you have something important to say.
If not you'll get caught
by the screener. Whats his name?
Its always a double you when you're dealing with the man.
Stick close to the speaker just to follow the plan
and when I ask you the name of the show that beats the rest
you know you're gonna tell me that you're dealing with the Best
Show on WFMU.

brilliant! two thumbs up!

Molto bene!
-
Great work Alvaro!
On my tiny speakers your voice and flow sound a lot like Beck's. I suppose that's neither a good nor bad thing, just a pointless comment.
-
Thanks guys. You think you caught all the references?
-
my FAVORITE part is the wait, whuut? sample. or was that an impression. either way.
-
It's a sample. I've been waiting for a while for the perfect one where Tom's not talking over it and there's no music or anything or JW's voice doesn't crack.
-

That's fine, I was just answering your questions. Long distance isn't really my thing.

I appreciate the effort, but I fucking hated your song and couldn't wait for it to finish since I was listening to the podcast on my ipod that was in my pocket and was too lazy to take it out and skip past it
I mean, if it was done ironically, I guess I get it
But if you were serious....jeepers creepers!

Who is this guy and why is he saying jeepers creepers?! His rudeness makes me frown.

I love the fact that you used both the words "fucking" and "jeepers creepers."
I can guarantee you that it wasn't done ironically and am glad that it wasn't bad enough to make you reach into your pocket. I will mark that one down as a win.
Fucking thanks jeepers creepers dude.

oh no guys, God forbid someone might think the rap song is lame
Say anything you want, but whatever you do DON'T talk negatively about Alvaro's amazing rap song
Criticism will not be tolerated, even the constructive kind!
-
cat fight! cat fight! woohoo! what I was waitin for!
not really. i am non-violent.
-
Criticism will not be tolerated, even the constructive kind!
Where was the constructive part, dipshit?

Coffea, maybe if you had not cursed or insulted the rap song with obvious intent to put it down, and instead explained in a civilized (non cursing or exagerating) way what you didn't like, it would have come off as constructive.
I for one don't care that you posted hating on the song, that's what forums are for, but don't pretend that you were trying to be constructively critical when people call you on it. No ones buying it.
-
I didn't say my criticism was of the constructive kind, I don't know where you read that. I guess your rapping ability is as advanced as your reading comprehension skills.
I was simply stating that even if someone were to post constructive criticism, there'd probably be a swarm of nerds calling them a dipshit or a meanee
And what are you, 12? Oh no I cursed! Guys, Tom doesn't like cursing, so we're gonna be totally against cursing at all times, cause maybe then Tom will notice us and think we're cool!
But truthfully, I don't think the cursing bothered you more than the pointing out that your song was lame....
And honestly, you don't need a brain surgeon to figure out what's wrong with it, but if YOU can't figure it out on your own, I'll let you continue making them until reality sets into your head
As I stated, I respected the fact that you put time and effort into it, but I personally didn't like it. I was hoping you had done it as a joke and weren't serious, but it seems like Alvaro "The Superstar" takes his rap very VERY seriously
-
I didn't complain once about you posting complaints. I was just pointing out that if you HAD posted constructive criticism people wouldn't have jumped down your throat the way they (and not me) did. I didn't say you have no right to curse, I just said that if you wanted a non-angry response to your message, you might have wanted to word things differently. I honestly don't see where it says anywhere that it bothered me that you cursed or that you think the song is lame. I don't know you, dude. And frankly your reading comprehension seems to be on the level of your manners.

What would qualify a brain surgeon to make rap judgments? And I gotta stress saying "if you don't know I'm not telling" is a sure sign you have no idea what you're talking about.

Oh I get it. You are an idiot.

Why so bitter? Just wonderin'.
Today's a nice day in GA, I'ma gonna go take a nice walk and get an icecream. Maybe you should consider doing the same, and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

oh yeah, cause saying "don't pretend that you were trying to be constructively critical when people call you on it" is totally indicative of you not thinking I was trying to pass my comments off as constructive criticism hahaha
Listen man, if you want me to point out in detail everything that sucks about your song, I will. If you want me to explain why you should be embarrassed about it (and boy did you show your embarrassment on the air right after it finished and Tom was silent for about 3 seconds trying to formulate a response that wouldn't ridicule you in some way), I will. I'm happy you're dying to be "part of the show" and that you think you can rap, but you're going to have to live with the fact that not everyone is going to think that what you do isn't lame.
And if someone that spends his life idolizing a radio host thinks I'm an idiot, I can live with that...

listen honey, my original comment was an innocent one until everyone got their panties in a bunch. On my end, I'm cool as a cucumber
-
I think what everyone means to say, mrCoffea, is that you should go shop for a coffin. I think that's what you meant to say too, to Alvaro. It's also what I mean to say, to you, because you sound like a real un-fun dude with too many opinions.
Who goes out of their way to say "btw, I fucking hate your fan art"? It's not like he's pulling down the T.I. scrilla or anything. Go look up tact in the dictionary, baloney mahoney!

You sure got me. You win. Now I hate my song. You're a really good arguer.

Don't feed the trolls, folks.

Hey! what's going on in here?

Yikes.
Bye!

I appreciate the effort you put into this thought. Great job!
