Magma
« on: May 25, 2015, 03:28:01 PM »
Tom and other FOTs, what are your thoughts on the French prog rock/jazz group Magma? I'm an ignoramus so I wasn't aware of them before seeing the documentary Jodorowsky's Dune  - where HR Giger described them as "the ugliest music" in rock in the 1970s (or something like that). Naturally, such a description coming from that lunatic made me want to check them out.

I've purchased the Magma Live album and I'm liking it thus far. If you're a fan, any suggestions on where to go next?

I'm not Tom, but I finally got to see Magma live a couple months ago and aside from the Sonics, it was the best show I've seen all year...

My friends who went to go see the rare Magma show last month all had religious experiences.

Thanks both! A band creating their own language is so bonkers that it's hard not to love it!
