The Scharpling & Wurster Drinking Game
« on: December 14, 2015, 02:26:18 AM »
I was introduced to the Best Show earlier this year via the Scharpling & Wurster box set, and after a few months of listening religiously I started compiling a few of the common tropes that tend to pop up over and over again whenever Tom gets on the phone with a resident of Newbridge. With nothing better to do with this information, I decided to make a drinking game out of my notes. I thought I'd post it here; if nothing else, I'm sure Mike might appreciate this.

Without further ado, I present to you...

The Scharpling & Wurster Drinking Game

Take a drink IF:

  • Jon says “Wait, WHAT?” “WHY.” “You ____-dummy”, “Crack a book much?” or “I’ll nutshell it for you”
  • Jon mispronounces a word or phrase
  • Jon shares blatantly fabricated obscure trivia
  • Something has “two horns” (take two drinks)

Take a shot IF:

  • Jon does not change his voice
  • Tom and Jon start talking about “Clifford”
  • Jon refers to WFMU as a “high school radio station”
  • Jon accuses Tom of using a voice modulator
  • Jon threatens Tom

Finish your drink IF:

  • Another caller interacts with Jon
  • The call ends with Jon putting some blue on and falling asleep
  • The call ends with Jon dead or incapacitated

Listen responsibly!

Seems Mike may have created one, once.

Maybe they could be combined.

Might make for more drinking.

They have enough drinking in Jersey in the winter.
