Great list; definitely some stuff I need to check out for the first time and/or revisit. Just sampled a very enjoyable Theo Verney track.

Thanks Omar! I appreciate that. Your list is also great and will take me an age to follow up on.

Just listened to Evan Funk Davies' Album of the Year: John Krautner's Fun with Gum, Vol. 1. It's a good one!

EFD's year-end roundups are always worth exploring. I was not familiar with Krautner, but I checked it out and it is indeed quite good. I was also not aware of the Worriers -- another good one from the Don Giovanni label.

Awesome list, we played with Elder recently and they were great.
Ian from Kowloon is a big Best Show fan

I don't get how Deafheaven are so huge now, I think they're alright. I forgot about Peach Kelli Pop, I'll chekc out their new one.
Still gotta get the new Cherubs too. they were old favorites

Thanks; always nice to see olds like Cherubs, Killing Joke, Maiden, etc. still delivering the goods.

I was sad to miss Bang! But my wife went, she said there wasn't many people there and I was surprised because Bang! is one of the great lost bands. If Sir Lord Baltimore wasn't dead and they toured, would the response be the same?

Thanks for mentioning Los Theme Weavers in your top list - those shows were some of the most fun I've ever played and what a thrill to work with Tom & Jon after all these years of fandom.

we got to open for Bang and UFOmammut (not the same show). Both bands ruled live and both bands were awesome people. the bang show had people, but it was the day after Halloween and around a few other shows, so I didn't expect it to be packed. Thye played to a large group of people when i saw them in santa ana though. And they're playing at Roadburn fest this year- they seem really stoked!

This is such a great list, thanks for doing this! Especially dig all of the heavy/metal stuff that I don't get exposed to nearly as frequently. Now where can I follow you to get recommendations throughout the year so I can avoid having 60 albums to listen to in January...

Thanks.  I have not previously used any other outlet to document an ongoing Best Of through the year. I will consider doing a quarterly roundup this year as a prelude to the final list.

The list is 125 records long and still somehow omits Kurt Vile?
