The Best Show Novelization: An Unauthorized Treatment
« on: July 18, 2017, 12:41:27 PM »
Based on Minute 11 of the June 21, 2017 Podcast

Tom went on. “Did you like that Mike? Mike liked it. Usually Mike only likes songs that are… 47 minutes long. With, ah, you know, Sweet Caboose or whatever they’re called. You like other stuff though. Mike likes the Dead, he likes Bob Dylan, he likes Bruce Springsteen. And what else? That’s it? Is that where it ends? Kinda where it ends? All right, maybe he doesn’t like that much.

“But he likes reading books, is what he likes. That’s where you tell the story of Mike. You look and you see Mike, and what are you reading there, Mike?” Tom asked himself.

“Well, I’m reading uh, A Fan’s Notes,” Tom answered, on Mike’s behalf.

“Aah,” Tom, said, impressed with his own Mike-answer of his, Tom’s, own question.

Tom’s thoughts continued on.

A Fan’s Notes… Mike could learn something from Fred Exley, Tom thought.  Hell, Mike probably *has* learned something from Fred Exley.

Hell, Mike probably *taught* something to Fred Exley, back in the day."

“Back in the day.”

He couldn’t go there. He wouldn’t go there.

Another night, it’s gonna be a long one, he thought. Tom’s innermost thoughts were always composed of lyrics by his least favorite band.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!
