He was on the Jake and Jackie show a few times. I can't seem to find any links. I might still have the mp3 of it though, I'll look around.

Here's one of his appearances on the Jake and Jackie show from March 28th '06

Thanks pinto! I got to listen to it today, but I found Jake and Jackie annoying and had to skip through most of their chatter.

Any idea what time in the show Tom goes on? These two are annoying.

Hour forty minutes in. I will post an edited version on the Vault within days.

Cool. I eventually scanned ahead (man, was I being lazy...) and found Tom. And Mark. And ventriloquist Mark. How you doin', Mark. Good, how you doin', Mark.

Two other Sound of Young America appearances:
Here and Here

Edited to include:
Here's Tom on Cherry Blossom Clinic during this year's fundraiser right here. (March 17th, 2007) There are also six other appearances by the kid. Just Ctrl+F "Scharpling" on the page.

Wow, Jake from Jake and Jackie is like an incredibly annoying Sam Seder.

I'm a Fogelnest fan going back to Squirt TV, consider it a misfired wisecrack.

I turfed out.

Calling the other radio station wasn't the best comedy idea, and then calling them again to apologize probably made things worse.

The Marky phone call was terrific, though. Jackie sure loves her some erotic fiction.

I am quite possibly wrong, but I gotzta wonder...there was a 7Second Delay rebroadcast last night from January 1993. Around the 11 minute mark, a caller named 'Randy' checks into the show. Early into that call someone else picks up Randy's line and says the name Tom. Randy also says "slobs" at some point, haha, but it's hard to know if it's the Tom since it's nearly 15 years ago (and he's not using the voice modulator)...

According to Ken, Tom was the very first caller to Seven Second Delay. There was also another episode I heard where I could swear it was Tom calling in using his voice modulator in reverse.

Tom (or someone who sounds exactly like him) has definately called into Chris T's old show Aerial View at least a couple of times, but hell if I could find the specific shows.

BUMPING to post this!

About 40 minutes in, then about 45 minutes after that, then about 55 minutes in after that.

His calls are in reference to a caller from a band called "The Pundits" who is depressed about not having any fans after only existing for 7 months. The last call is in reference to a guy who keeps calling in and singing.

He doesn't identify himself as Tom, but it's very much his voice.

Ask not what The Best Show can do for you, but what you can do for The Best Show.

Tom called Night People again! They talk about Pinball machines and Rush Limbaugh. A new friendship is born.

Dec 31, 2009 show: http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/34215  Starts at the 2:10 mark. An hour of great radio.

I also recommend the entire 4-hour show if you have the time.
