"Freewheeling" Yo La Tengo

I caught YLT's "Freewheeling" show this past Saturday in Hollywood...with my parents, who happened to visit me this weekend.  They loved it!  Lifelong Jerseyans that they are, they particularly loved Ira's references to the Clambroth House in Hoboken.

I've seen YLT more times than I can count at this point, but the show from this tour was particularly special.  Not only is it a rare occasion to see a band unguardedly and spontaneously answering questions about its history, influences and experiences, but (as always) they played fantastically from their back catalogue and their extensive covers library.  Highlights for me included "Farmer's Daughter," "Picture Book" and "4th Time Around."

If you haven't seen them on this tour and still have the chance to, please do!  You won't regret it.  At the very least, try to catch as many Hanukkah shows as possible.

What I wouldn't give to have been able to see them on this tour. I caught them earlier this year in Tulsa and they were fantastic.

Anyways, anyone who's registered at Dime and a YLT fan should be aware that one of the "Freewheelin'" shows has finally surfaced, in outstanding quality, no less.

I saw Yo La Tengo at NYU last year do what was called a lecture, but it was basically one of these Freewheeling shows. A couple songs and little chatting, it was great.

Don't miss em!

Is it above board to request a sendspace or megaupload of that Freewheelin' show? Or perhaps a dimeadozen invite?

I couldn't find a dimeadozen invite either, but I found this:

"You want me to recognize you and I won't. I won't acknowledge you! I deny you. So you keep begging and begging. The door is slammed on you. I want nothing to do with you. You will die unrecognized by me."
