Can Anyone Fix A Broken DAT Tape?
« on: September 14, 2006, 05:18:11 PM »
Everyone -

I know there are some gearheads around here, and The Best Show is in a fix.

I've got a broken DAT tape - it snapped when I was trying to dump its contents into a computer. It's a VERY IMPORTANT TAPE.

Can anybody out there splice it back together for me? It would be greatly appreciated, and there will be some form of compensation for your efforts.

I do need someone who seriously knows what they're doing with this though - if you aren't that good at it, please dont try to be a hero. We've got one crack at this thing - kinda like the asteroid in Armageddeon.

You can hit me up at toms@wfmu.org.

Thanks so much -

Tom.

I would suspect WFMU has a cutting block and editing tape somewhere in the station. I used to cut tons of tape (reels, not DAT). I just lost a ton of my own archival stuff due to CD rot, sucks. Sorry.
