Sun Ra!
Which era?

Fate in a Pleasant Mood. I'm not sure which era that would be in, because it was written when he was in Chicago but wasn't released until he was in New York. Are the different eras based on the decade the music was released of the location he was in at the time the music was made?

Both the decades and location play a role. Obviously, it's an interplay between where his head was at and what musicians he had at his disposal. I love the concept that it is an Arkestra. A traveling orchestra that gathers musicians and styles of music and distributes them around the world.

I recently picked up Cosmos. A little raw and I like it.

Kicking Giant. Just found out they're playing in San Francisco soon! I haven't seen them since like 1991 (with Unwound , Dukes of Burl and Some Velvet Sidewalk in Olympia...such an amazing show)

Kicking Giant - Fuck the Rules
