I have a copy of Ask the Ages, too! I think that accounts for the only 3 extant copies.

Is extant a word?

I have it also! 4 copies!

There ought to be a copy of Ask The Ages in every home. Sonny Sharrock was a genius. It's a shame his life was cut short.

If you like Sonny Sharrock also check out some of these albums he appeared on:

"Eternal Rhythm" by Don Cherry
"Tauhid" by Pharoah Sanders
"Super Nova" by Wayne Shorter
"A Tribute to Jack Johnson" by Miles Davis (specifically the second track "Yesternow" where he's absolutely killer)
"Black Woman" by Sonny and Linda Sharrock
"Guitar" by Sonny Sharrock

They're all great albums.

Also, his work with Last Exit is good (depending on your tolerance for free jazz).

I defy anyone to watch the Leonard Cohen dvd, Live in London, and not become a fan. It may be the most charming performance ever.

I am actually not listening right this very second, but six hours from now I will be neck-deep in the middle of an X concert, with all four original members. Can I take it?

I put on Living with the Living. Best record of 2007? I think so.

Okkervil River is great, my buddy Scott plays trumpet/keyboards in that band.

Sometime tomorrow, after I have had a little time to process it all, I am going to gush about tonight's X show, which was fan-fudging-tastic.

Tres Bien live on WMNF, sound tight and energetic.

I read some good press about them.  They deserve it.

A live, beat-boxed version of Ambulance by TV on The Radio. It's pretty swell.

You got to give more than that to work with. What's your beef?
