I'm all about the twee crap myself.  Susannah and I were on that Indiepop List song that Momus did on Stars Forever.  (My line concerns my "bride-to-be" - and we got married in 1999, so that tells you how long ago that was).

I have the bar exam this coming week, so I've been alternating between musical comfort food and, uh, Enter The 36 Chambers.  "Bring Da Ruckus" is excellent scholastic motivational music.

That camera obscura video was great.  I watched the video for "Let's Get Out of This Country" and that one... not so much.  That band has about as much personal charisma as the non-natalie-merchant version of 10,000 Maniacs.

Appropriately, I am listening to "You're Just A Baby" by Belle and Sebastian right now.

Also, I'm the one who started the "Generation That Bought More [blank]" post in Chinatown.

But holy shit do I hate The Pastels.

Aw, I like Camera Obscura.  "Underachievers Please Try Harder" in particular has some nice tracks.  Extract the best from all three releases and you've got a great single CD.

LOVE the Pastels, though I can kind of understand why other people wouldn't.  "Mobile Safari" is a great album from start to finish.  I even like the jazz-oriented and slightly pretentious "Illumination."
