Parenthetical Girls' Entanglements. It really caught me.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

I like Ted Leo and the Pharmacists' Shake the Sheets.  Does anyone have suggestions to other albums I'd like?

Oops.

Ha! That's funny!

But I actually am.  A rip from a 160 kbps promo CD leaked on Christmas Day.

Merriweather Post Pavilion is pretty excellent.  Even the songs that I didn't like the bootlegs of are awesome in the studio versions.  "Lion in a Coma" is a sleeper hit.

Oh, I believe you but with all the hubbub surrounding the "leak", your oops made me laugh. By the way, how is it?

It's probably not fair to judge an album based on low-quality .mp3s, but I I agree with Dan B.  I've only listened to it all the way through once so far, but so far it's great.  I am a huge fan of the band, though.

Mitch Ryder's (John Mellencamp-produced) version of When You Were Mine.

I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Ozric Tentacles, unfortunately. These guys have recorded over 100 tracks; I defy anyone not in the band to tell any pair of them apart.

I think my wife has a CD of theirs from her hippie days, but I haven't checked it out...

Your list didn't surprise me until I got to Coil.

For traditional American death metal, you can do better than Cannibal Corpse.  I always found their stuff fairly uninspired ~ more a symbol of everthing that was wrong with the genre than anything.  Was always partial to Obituary, personally ~ for their mid-tempo doom grooves and that wicked sounding guitar chord.  (audio link)
