"Don't get the Stilton, because that's a chump cheese. Sorry, John."  -- John "Max" Hodgman, trying to get a rise out of John Olive-Man.

YUP! That's the exact "saintly" picture I was talking about!

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of that picture, badgrammer. To give credit where it's due, here's the original version of it:

I cropped Neil Gaiman out of the picture ... nothing against Neil Gaiman, I think he's super-awesome. It's just that there was so much information to process in that picture already ...

Small complaint:  I wish Mr. Hodgman had recommended some nice blues.

I was hoping the two Johns would get into it over sports fandom. Actually, given how often I listen to the Bugle, it was a pretty amazing thing to hear John Oliver sparring with Tom. It was like The Jetsons Meet the Flinstones of comedy podcasts I like, only good.

Np! That's awesome that you found it. I was going to do some digging around for it myself...Gaiman was pretty hilarious at "Wits", too. He was a "surprise guest". He was supposed to only call into the show, but fooled everyone by showing up on the stage.

I completely lost it when John H started doing dice rolls (and I lost it even more when I could hear Tom's fit of hysterics as well) kicking off what I hope to be a series of on-air D&D games.  I was literally crying with laughter upon hearing "Now he's a Nosferatu wolf" and "the wolf and panther have fallen in love" and so on.  Holy moly!

I'm also hoping that Jon W starts saying "What?!?" in the manner of Milo, as an affirmation of the constant mutation of the well-known classic "Whuuuut?"

Second John Hodgman pretend playing D&D on air

Hodgman is Will Smith's Son. Also most of the Philly Boy Roy call.

And the other John calling Larry, Senior Perverson.

With the D&D talk and lot's of talk about puns, it was a very nerdy episode of The Best Show. I give this show 9 asthmatic lungs out of 10.

If Tom came up with "Don't Wait, Just Kill Me" right then and there, it's one of his most brilliant moments.

I actually found, "Hold on a Minute, I have a George Bush Joke" to be funnier.

Most all of the PBR call. His jumping 30 feet into the 8 foot pool, draconian laws, and all that.

His jumping 30 feet into the 8 foot pool.

Perfectly possible.

We used to wait for the train, as we stood atop the trestle, to get the hesitant to make the plunge.

I suppose the 8 feet of water would at least slow you down a bit before you slammed against the bottom.
