'HOW I BEAT YOUR MOTHER'
good lord.

Imagining a show made up of flashbacks of arguments between two postgrad douchebags.

Just so I'm clear, this is the show starting Doggie Howser, right?

One night Tom should just see how long he can go.

Wait - now I'm confused again ... which one is Dork Patrol?

I just want to thank everyone who called in or tweeted their support for me as a potential new protege for Tom. Tom touting me as a possible protege of his is a true honor. Just mere weeks ago, I was a small-town (Philadelphia) kid who had a podcast he made where he kinda talked about basketball with a good friend of his. It's pretty awesome that Tom is one of the 55 people who listen to our podcast and that he enjoys it enough to mention me on the air.

I very much would like to be Tom's protege. I think I have the necessary enthusiasm and fire that Tom wants for this role.

I just want to say that I have no personal animosity against The H-Man or Wally Wackiman. They've been welcomed into the homes of the millions of Best Show listeners around the globe for years. But this is a role that I never dreamed that I could have until Tom threw my name out there as a possibility. It's something that I want.

I will bare no grudge if The H-Man or an unknown entity (human, puppet or otherwise) earns the title of protege. But I will say that whoever earns this title is in for one hell of a fight. Because you can't fight this fire, daddy!

Also, I loved the discussion of the Northern Canadian Football League and am contemplating a podcast about this league.

Tom absolutely killed it, again, last night. Him chuckling at the story by the guy with the dislocated shoulder had me in stitches. and Mike's cruise ship recap was hilarious. TBS 2011 is off to a great start.

The Kevin Smith bit reminder me about this:

I was listening to one of the live Kevin Smith off-shoot podcasts (don't judge me) and at one point during a Q&A portion someone in the audience stood up and told him about the "interview" on the best how.

You can't really hear the audience member but you hear, "...Scharpling.... Best Show..." Kevin responds with, "They what? Oh, that sucks. Those guys were really nice."

If anyone wants to listen to it, it's on the Tell em Steve Dave january-ish "Live from..." episode. Fast-forward towards the last 30 minutes unless you enjoy listening to people who shouldn't perform live and someone who doesn't want to perform live do a live podcast.

P.S. Don't judge me.

I knew some brown-noser must have got Kevin's ear about it after he stopped following me on twitter.

But Kevin is a friend of the show! Tom said so. That nullifies the show in 2003 where Tom said, and I quote: "I Hate Kevin Smith". So it is written. So shall it be done.

Just the phrase "the blob from The Afghan Whigs."
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Do it, great league! More passing plays! I like my football played by a collection of gym teachers and civil servants, they're more desperate to come up with big plays in an effort to get noticed.

I'm going to research the teams in the Nanuvaat division right away.
