Hi, Jake - I think if you just post the URL rather than using the embed option, all of that extra code won't show up.  It took me months of posting like that before I figgered it out.

Bueno.

I didn't find Tompkins very funny last night. I haven't seen crap besides Mr. Show cause I don't do TV so what do I know. I might have to download a few episodes and see what "Best Week" is like.

Check out his standup CD, too. It's called "Impersonal" and is rather ace.

Also, Spike as jazz was great, and "My son, Slash, like that guy in Slash's Snakepit"

Spike as Jazz caused me to laugh so loudly and harshly that I scared the hell out of my roommates.  Priceless.

This reminds me that I've wanted to know for a long time what Tom's take on the "Word Jazz" radio show by Ken Nordine.  It's this late-Sunday-night show, not sure if it's only on Chicago Public Radio, or if it's on NPR all over the country, but it's pretty much based on word-thought associations.  It's sort of creepy in a funny way, because he kind of talks to himself a lot in this weird whispery voice.
Anyway, it's worth checking out:

Please for a "Tom On..."?

Laurie's call and Tom's joking about her being Spike's joke writer made me laugh a lot.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

The craziest thing? Stevie Wonder was accompanied by Sting and his stupid beard of the harmonica* at the SAME TIME Tom started going off about the Police on Elvis Costello's talk show. It was really funny.

*Pretty much everyone played the harmonica that night. Stevie Wonder. Sting. Alicia Keys. Even Shakira. It was... different. I felt for the President and the First Lady. My heart really went out to them.
Too soon?

On re-listening to the Christmas show, I visited Spencer Gifts online and noticed a few perfect best Show novelties on the front page.

This is an awful-some way to waste some office time. I feel shame.

I think we all know what Tom's getting for Christmas in 2010.
Too soon?

Tonight could get better, but that Julie call just now was gold. Alf? The voice? Relationship advice!

RoTY? I think so.

A GOMP!!!

I also always really like the Mike Show crossovers.  This one was especially funny.

Julie doing that voice did crack me up pretty hard.

But the call from Bernie Taupin was the biggest surprise.  I was hoping to get on the air earlier to ask him some Levon questions.
