"Thanks for taking the time... etc"
"Alright, no problem guys... etc"

SILENCE.

That silence was the most I've laughed in a long time.

No kidding. Especially when, after the long pause, they both started giggling.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Mike casually talking about "bird-doggin' chicks and gettin' loaded" on The Mike Show was tremendous. Co-host Tom's measured contributions about his love for Smith's movies, policy about not making fun of anyone's appearance and the extended pause after the interview were all brilliantly played.

During the PJ/Dr. Filthenstein call, "...it was the night you ruined my life" was one of the funniest transitions from happy caller into depraved caller that I can remember. I also consistently love the Newbridge callers who are surprisingly upbeat during their downward spiral, which this week's nailed. Also, Tom being addressed only as "Host" is always a winner.
This may be the year I will disappear.

It's either this or the silence after the Kevin Smith call. What an episode.

Not to get off topic, but...

When Dr. Wurster called in from "Rapid City", was Professor Scharpling's pique at his use of the term "number 2" real or manufactured (i.e., in character)? Something about it sounded disturbingly authentic...
I thought I heard some applause. NO APPLAUSE!

Isn't he?  He's seen every movie the guy has made.

(Maybe not the Porno one, I forget.)

yeah, i understand being polite to a guy when you are talking to him, but I thought the Kid, kind of aligned with Mike, had a  sort of obsession with Smith's lack of directorial skills.  thats why i thought he might have been sarcastic when he told him that he likes his movies.

Having missed the show this week, I read here first about Kevin Smith being on and completely dismissed it as a joke. When I actually listened to the podcast last night and The Mike Show began, I had one of those rare moments where my jaw hinges literally went limp from shock, even though I'd had ample warning. My mind is still reeling in disbelief even today, honestly. It was like watching doppelgängers defy the laws of reality with a handshake that implodes the universe. Simply put, AMAZING RADIO!

Like the "Wish You Were Here" album cover.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

This week's Mike Show was like the first time I ever heard a Wurster call.  I'm a little bit disoriented and confused and have a huge grin on my face.

Brilliant.

Tom seems to get grossed-out pretty easily whenever there's any sort of reference to solid human waste.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. When I'm feeling mean spirited on Tuesdays, which is so rare, I have a very hard time not calling Tom to mention fecal matter. I usually don't call, just in case my filter isn't working, but it's very difficult to resist.
