"Coupla brace faces back there telling you to hurry?"

I murdered that quote, but you know the real one was hilarious...

Things I liked:

Ted's Story, Mike in Brooklyn (or was it Brian? Sorry if you're here on the board), Michael Jackson bongs, and i thought tom hanging up on me at the end of the show was pretty funny, but that might just be because I was involved.

I forget if it was Mike; I can confirm it wasn't me. I've only called once. It's rare that I get a chance to listen live and have anything for the topic.

(Exception: Martin Short, but I would have been hung up on.)

On topic: Randy in Greenpoint's April Fool's story was terrific.

Tom's impression of an electric jug.

That should go in the next opening montage.

Best: Teddy Rockstar's impression of the uncouth British stagehand, "If you start 30 seconds late, I'm gonna give it to you man!"

Worst: Jesse Thorpe's attempt to turn the show into Tom, Jesse Go.

Speaking of which, I took the plunge on the 13th Floor Elevators boxset last night. Something tells me the whole "4000 copies worldwide" thing is a ruse, because there's no way I should've gotten my hands on one if it's actually true. I'm not cool enough! Maybe I stole David Fricke's copy.

Anyways, last week's show was a delight! It's rare that the callers approach greatness the way that they did this last show. Other than that first mutant, everyone had a fun and interesting story. Of course, the callers couldn't have stepped up as they did without a great topic, and "Going South" is one of the greats, right up there with "The Five People You Least Want To Have Dinner With" and "Who's the Dumbest Member of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young?"

And what can I say about the Wurster call? It was absolute perfection.
It ain't ego, it's my love for you.

I missed 'the 5 people you least want to have dinner with'. That would require a lot of thought.

More talk about a live Best Show.  The anticipation is killing me.
You'll like it in hell; it's a lot like New Jersey.

Best Part: Tom describing Michael Jackson as a 'poor (or sad) mutant'... and Mike's barely audible laughter in the background during a prolonged pause.

Worst Part: Having Jay Leno represent us Boston Trash. Conan is, and always has been our favorite son on late night TV.

I'm not the biggest fan of Boston, but I don't think it deserves to be tarred as the "birthplace" of Jay Leno either.
