Tom's list of Steve Coogan stuff to watch was a high point for me.  There's a lot here I haven't seen.

Here are Tom's suggestions:
I'm Alan Partridge season 1
Saxondale season 1
Coogan's Run
Tony Ferrino Phenomenon
I'm Alan Partridge season 2
Saxondale season 2
Sunshine
Paul and Pauline Calf's Cheese and Ham Sandwich

Haha! I was jotting these down too, as Tom was listing them.

I started watching Saxondale based on his recommendation. It took me a couple of episodes to adjust to the pace of the show but I am sold now. I found the theme music very endearing too. The one thing that I don't like about this show is that it's only 2 seasons.

I was going to go back and re-listen to get a copy of that list. Thanks Fletcher!

I was hesitant to start watching Saxondale because I really only know Coogan as Alan Partridge and I love Alan Partridge, but I started watching it because of Tom's praise and I'm really enjoying it.

Yeah, same here.  I only know the perfection of Alan Partridge and am afraid of some other character he does tainting that.  Even when Coogan is doing interviews in the Alan Partridge character he's amazing.

and getting annoyed at the audience:

But Steve Coogan in other things, like 24 Hour Party People was pretty awesome too and I'm definitely going to check out the stuff Tom mentioned.

The Cooger is quite good in a very different, mostly not funny at all way in the movie Happy Endings.

Steve Coogan is pretty good in the recent film version of Tristam Shandy.

the only reason i watched this movie was because laurence sterne is my all-time favorite author.  in turn, i enjoyed steve coogan mellencamp.  however, i cant believe no one has mentioned his stirring role in Night at the Museum.

I wasn't a fan of the movie but Coogan opposite Alfred Molina in Coffee and Cigarettes was really funny to me. His reversal at the end is great.

i love that you mentioned this, BPH, because there wasnt much i liked about Coffee and Cigarettes but this was one of the scenes i enjoyed thoroughly and did in fact laugh during.

Agreed, one of the high points of C&C to be sure, although I could take or leave most of that film also.

Thanks for all the Coogan suggestions.  Just finished season 1 of Saxondale and about to begin season 2.  Needless to say, it's the shit.  DFK, please tell me you're down with Saxondale.  This character is a prog rock fan's dream.  The show begins with a Jethro Tullish intro and ends with Hocus Pocus by Focus.  Saxondale is into, oh, Dark Side of The Moon, early Genesis...Have you seen it?  It's a giggle.

The whole show was great. Probably the funniest one I've heard and that's saying something.
