What is an analogue I might have heard to ICP music?  Because I will never listen to these guys, even for a second.  It's like a no-clown-badge of honor.

It's just depressingly low-quality southern rap with a bunch of inside references to soda. I think the fan base is just a ton of culture starved, poor southern kids.

The ad copy for the long infomercial is mind blowing.  When the spokeswoman, who's exerting every ounce of her will pretending to be an ICP fan, does the hoot thing, I almost can't watch.

Stop it with the self-loathing, Dave-O.  At least on this topic.

It would be interesting to do an anthropological study of ICP fans. They have their own culture, their own dialect, their own style of dress, and their own idiosyncrasies.

From the moment Tom mentioned something about the "Tom conference" (or TomFest or Tomstock or whatever it turns out to be) taking place at the same time as the Juggalo "family reunion"*, I have been unable to shake the image of two rival summer camps separated only by a lake.

Of course, with all "summer camps on a lake" stories, there is bound to be a forbidden love going on in the background. Any volunteers for a shot at romance with a Juggalo or Juggalette?

And just where would Larry fit in with all of it?

*which in my sudden fascination with learning all that I can about the Juggalos, I seem to keep finding as a frequent term for the gathering.

Would Larry have to spend 4 days floating in a canoe anchored in the middle of the lake listening to some weird hybrid mix of ICP and Ted Leo, Kottonmouth Kings and Aimee Mann, Jimmy Walker and Patton Oswalt?

I'm not a huge rap fan in general, so I was allowing for the possibility of there being some good southern rap, or at least some with a bit of production value. ICP's music sounds like it was done on a casio. I mainly just wanted to get across that I feel for the young fans of this group, emphasis on the word young.

I was honored to get a shout-out for my (Dorvid's) awesome new username.  Tom once laughed on-air at one of my old AST usernames, too, so apparently I excel at picking internet aliases.  Yeah, I'm bragging.

Hey, I like UGK and Outkast. And Weezy and Ludacris have some (emphasis on the "some) good stuff.

But, yeah, a lot of it is trash.

EDIT: Forgot that last caveat.

I used to do music and film reviews and one time got a press pack from Suburban Noize records that included Big B, Hed PE, Potluck and southern "swamp" rapper The Dirtball. I wrote the reviews and then quit reviewing music.

Also shout outs to Goodie Mob, Geto Boys, Devin the Dude, and Killer Mike. And guilty pleasures Young Jeezy and Slim Thug.

Okay, Tom challenged me to work Cake vs. Pie into a sermon.  I take this very, very seriously.  However, it has been so long since I've heard the routine that I can't remember much about it.  To be honest, I'm not even sure I have heard it or if I've just heard people talking about it.  I searched for a clip of it on line, but I can't ind one.  Can anyone point me anywhere?  I don't think I'm violating forum rules with this, but if I am, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.  Thanks.

Isn't that bit on his 'Impersonal' cd. If not, maybe on Driven to Drink.

Nope and nope.  It should appear on his forthcoming second album, and possibly on his DVD/special, but for now, it is not available.

And Bubba Sparxxx, who is hell of underappreciated. Not to mention that he got booed offstage so heavily by Juggalos at one of their Gatherings Thereof that they named a booed-off-the-stage award after him, therefore immediately putting him on the side of Good Music.

Speaking of Geto Boys, why is Scarface at this!?

Anyway, best part of the show was the ICP fan purposely getting fired for shoving his boss.
