I wouldn't mind a dub of that baseball single. Wonder what the b-side is.

I think if Laurie could get over her horror, she might enjoy a radio date with Lawrence D. Pervison. She seems to know an awful lot of pornographers and I imagine Larry shares her love of Vincent Gallo. BTW I also like Larry, but I do think he's going a bit overboard this year. I still prefer Fredricks. It's like whoever is the current mutant du jour, they need to call about half as much.

From listening carefully to the Mets-merized song, I think the shortstop was saying "I'm a full-grown man." What I loved was the next line where he rhymes "I'm really smooth" with "in the groove". It just supports the idea that they were making fun of him.

I actually think he said "a Gold Glove man", which, come on, he played in the National League at the same time as Ozzie Smith. Quit lyin', Rafael Santana.

I liked the comment that Tom being left hand was sinister.  "That's what left-handed is in Latin sinister".  Also, Sebastian Bach reference

You laugh now but Sebastian Bach spent 5 years of the 90s in a Turkish Prison because they didn't recognize him then.

That song needed more Danny Heep and Tim Teufel.

I was eating rice when I read this ... You don't want to know how that rice went from my mouth to my computer screen.  But damn, that was funny!

I have it from a reliable source (he actually bought a copy when it came out) that the lyric under question is "I'm a cool glove man."

That doesn't seem very boastful to me because it conveys, "I'm a cool glove man, meaning that my glove is cool as opposed to hot on account of how little action it sees due to all the balls I drop." I don't know why he talks like a George Saunders character.

Quick note: If anybody wants to criticize guests who are nice enough to make time in their insanely busy schedules and physically come down to the WFMU studios to provide three hours of entertainment, please do it somewhere else. It's not gonna fly on this board, no matter what this thread is called.

And thanks once more to Patton for being eternally generous with his time, talent and energies.

Tom.

Love Patton.  I think all the guests are awesome.  Especially PFT.

I also have to admit that all this talk of Kiss meets the phantom of the park on the show has resulted in me tracking down a copy of it.  It seems awesome.  Can't wait to watch it.

no, no, I think you're mistaken.  Having to tour with GNR is not equivalent to spendng time in a Turkish prison, close though.

That's the thing about Larry. He can make 2 calls seem like 3!

I'm sure he's painful for you guys but good lord is it really funny when you guys bust his chops.

I got a kick out of you asking Larry if "dere" is a vocal tic on the Mike Show.
