Tom not missing a beat and confidently stating that the trailer for 'It's Complicated' employed Gary Jules' cover of "Mad World" was seven layers of hilarious.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed Wally Wackiman as a co-host my favorite part of the show was Wally doing a worse Tom impression than I did. That's right, my ego typed this post!

Well, in all fairness, Wally did admit that he didn't think he could do a good Tom impression, but just put a little sample out there, for the heck of it.  Additionally, it is "Wackiman", as some have got right, not "Whacky Man".  Thanks.

Doin' the archive: Tyrone(?) from South Carolina might be my favourite caller ever.

Tyrone's call was the highlight of the show, IMO. His personal grooming tips were very useful.

He's 68 years old too. Oldest Best Show caller ever?

Only an hour into the podcast right now, but this quote stands out (in Robert Evans voice):

"What? You like my tie? Excuse me. I'd like to talk with you more, but I have an appointment with the shredder."
It ain't ego, it's my love for you.

I think we both ran into the same problem where the mannerisms come easy but the voice itself is tough. Good effort by Mr. Wackiman, I definetly don't think I would have to courage to do it in Tom's presence.
You look like a really healthy Arthy Lang.

Worst: the Velvet Underground record skipping. Coincidentally 'I Heard Her Call My Name' is also my favorite VU song, horrific guitar solo and all.

Although as locked grooves go, it sounded OK.

Wally Wackiman is a well-seasoned radio puppet who can go toe-to-toe with Best Show celebrities, the weirdest callers and even Mr. Best Show himself, Tom Scharpling!

Protogé? That's an understatement!

But, what does one call a radio host who happens to be a puppet?

Tyrone form SC needs to have his own segment, "Tyrone's Grooming Tips" like "Ask Aimee".

What about "Tyrone's Tips*" ...?

Wally Wackiman was spectacular.  Had me cracking up the whole show.  Seemed like he really knew when to chime in and when to lay back.

A fitting protégé!

I'd be more than pleased with "Tyrone's Tips" on anything and everything.

Wally killed it. Great job, Mr. Wackiman.

Tyrone's dulcet tones were a reminder of every older North/South Carolinian I've ever known.

Tom, I found "Mask Man and the Agents" on your station's very blog!  The song Tyrone wanted to hear is on this page - and it was posted in September of this very year.  Somebody please alert Tyrone, his request is granted.  It's called "Talking About the Boss and I."

PS Listen to this stuff.  These guys are awesome.

I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Speaking for myself, "Whacky Man" was intentional goofing. I hope Wally was not offended.
