Julie was hilarious the whole show. I couldn't stop laughing at "Cooks the" Books Dalton.

And Christina, your call was great. A lesser caller would have crumbled under the circumstances. The circumstances being Tom's Bruce Banner-like rage at Jen Kirkman's call.

Love that title so much ... I don't know what I thought the Posies were like, but after I heard Auer on the show I think I was wrong. I had a different band in my head I think ...

Pixies?

Nah, I think I meant I had a more Cranberries happy-sound kind of band in mind.

Julie really was funny as hell, and rolled with pretty much everything that happened. I hope she comes back, and I actually am really looking forward to the day when Jen Kirkman comes to the studio, whenever that may be ... I think she'll be just as good.

... and thanks! I just tried to ride out the rage like you ride waves. Plus, I figure if you get the heave ho, you get the heave ho. Not much you can do to stop it.

Last night, as Auntie phrased it to me on Twitter, was the breaking of my Best Show cherry.  I called in and got on.  Yup, got the heave and the ho, but that's the game.

The higher the heave ho ratio, the better the chance of getting on the air, so it's not really luck as much as persistence and, most importantly, SCIENCE.

Thank you Auntie and Erech for the moral support!

(and yeah, I could have been less awkward on my first call. One to grow on.)

(EDIT: also sorry for the digression. my call was not anywhere near a "Best Moment", lol)

Julie was hilarious

+1, she could've NOT been funnier.

BRYCE!

Yes!  Bryce making his crying cat noise was hilarious and adorable!

I thought it was very cool!
Sounds like someone was working as a conduit for nature's natural vengeance.  Just like Jesus.  And some of the others.

I also really liked his Neil Armstrong and the mention of my favorite, Rex.

I am listening to this week's archive right now, and Tom back announced the opening music, but the music itself is not on the archive???? I usually listen to the archive as opposed to the podcast so it still has the music... Hope this isn't a new thing.... Anyone know what's up?

Oh, one more thing I liked: When Tom is introducing Julie, throwing out descriptions and adjectives, and she prompts him "...legend..." drawing out the word all slow. Hysterical.

The music it cut from the itunes podcast.  I do believe.

The WFMU pods do not have the music cut. Usually.

I do declare:  I may not know what I am talking about.

The music is never in the podcast because of copyright issues (I think), but if you listen to the show as a streaming archive, the music is still intact.

Nicole -

Not sure what you mean. Which link on the archives are you using? I listened to the pop-up player for this week's episode and the music is still intact.
