This was the pic I saw that made me go "fuck yes!"

It's a very bossy shirt.
When I saw the Mountain Goats in Portland back around 2005 or 2006, John Darnielle was wearing the same shirt. But in red.

I once saw Darnielle wearing a "Listen to WASP" t-shirt. Maybe he just has a bunch of those with different band names.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Whoa!!!  Matt Fraction and I might have the same glasses!!!  And similar beards!!!

But he's definitely got a better head of hair than I do. :-\

I'm going to be honest, I never particularly cared for Matt Fraction's calls in to the show, and I'm not a big comic book fan.

In studio, I found him very charming, quick and with an outstanding sense of comic timing.  Which is a rarity.

Well done, MF*.

I hear where you're coming from.  I'm indifferent about comics and related conversations, but the in-studio was cool.

It's weird that Tom's show comes up during phone sex (!?)

I assume that certain 'conversations' are cut short so he can tune into the show.

I was a telemarketer for a while, and there was a certain type of lonely guy who would talk about anything with you, even if you were just calling to sell an internet plan.  I wouldn't be surprised if people called adult numbers just to talk about stuff.  Sometimes I'd talk to a guy for an hour or more about work, family, whatever.

Was that a veiled confession, PJ? ;)

It will be interesting to see how this mystery unfolds over the upcoming weeks. Up front, I want to say it wasn't me. I've never called an adult phone service in my life. I guess I'm a visual guy. Don't judge!

Wait....Didn't we all hear differently during Julie Klausner's visit??

Check the record, gb. It wasn't me. I was discussing Julie's proclivities as a youth. You can also read all about it in her book, I Don't Care About Your Band.

If you're willing to let us in on some of how the magic works, Mike, I think we'd all like to hear some details about how the call screening process went down when the Erotic Telephone Artist called in both times.

I hear where you're coming from.  I'm indifferent about comics and related conversations, but the in-studio was cool.

Also, I'm just going to go ahead and name Professor Mudd as my lead suspect. I think we can rule Larry out, since the Erotic Telephone Artist said that she was told to "call into the show," not that she was told to call into "da show, dere."
This may be the year I will disappear.

She basically explained how she heard about the show the same way she did on air, Wes. And that she really enjoyed the show. I thought it was such a good call, I put it through immediately. In retrospect, I probably should have reserved her for The Mike Show. She had a good voice and seemed very friendly (unlike some of the trolls I had to deal with earlier). I bet she's very good at her job. It's not my bag, but maybe I can pass along her digits on The Mike Show.

I, too, thought Matt Fraction killed it in studio.

I was intrigued by the discussion of the likeness of Tony Stark in The Invincible Iron Man and resemblance to Burt Reynolds. Now, I wished that I had listened live so I could call in and ask if Tony Stark was based on the guy who plays Sawyer on Lost.

While maybe not the best moment, the return of Purple Shirt certainly gets the "most unexpected moment" award.

I like Purpleshirt
between him and Matt Fraction two exceedingly pleasant guys

I quite liked all the unicycle talk. I ride a unicycle myself. All that talk just for me out of the whole listening audience. Nice.
