When I first heard that Charles Barkley Taco Bell ad, I thought the same thing that Tom did: "Is this really the best take they could get out of this guy?"

He still raps better than 50 Cent, though

Tom comparing the Charles Bronson Mandom ad to Billy Squier's "Rock Me Tonite" video.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I like how Tom went from nicknaming himself "Kid Fabulous" to "The Janitor" in about 75 seconds.
Doing it Mentos style.

Me too! He is a man of many nicknames --maybe not enough?

i want to add my support for pam. hopefully she continues to listen.. great call

was the avoidance of the ellen page spot just because tom got so much unwanted anti-juno attention after he reviewed the movie on air?

I don't want to be gauche or anything, but what was with Tom hustling the guy talking about the Ellen Page and Cisco Telepresence ads off the air quickly. He used the same tone as when people talk about Monk and the S&W albums.

My first thought was that perhaps he or a good friend of his worked on the the spots.

My second thought was "It's his show, he doesn't have to talk about anything he doesn't want to."

He's going to be working with Ellen Page, so he probably doesn't want to mention her on the air. He's writing the sequel to Juno.

It's supposedly called "Juno Dos" ... man, this IMDBpro is worth every penny.
Remember how he couldn't stop his leg?

Tom comparing the Charles Bronson Mandom ad to Billy Squier's "Rock Me Tonite" video.

Shortly after my call I remembered that Bronson worked in a coal mine before he was an actor, so the scent I would associate with Mandom would be burnt coal or sulphur; or maybe the aftermath of a cave-in.

[slurred] "My guy's got fellowships and everything."

Thanks for suggesting this ad, Wes. It killed me.

Tom didn't have time to go into it, but I love how at the end of the ad, Dr. Ben-Zur is giving advice to Farr and Rocco that any person off the street knows about heart health:

"Don't forget your exercise!  Low salt in your diet!"

I also like how Farr and Rocco seem to be totally brushing that advice off as they saunter off to a bar to get plastered in the afternoon.

And thanks to IMDB, I just learned that Alex Rocco = MOE GREENE!

Yes, but I'll always think of him as super-agent Al Floss on "The Famous Teddy Z"

In perhaps the saddest thing I've ever wiki'd, I just found out that Dr. Ben-Zur was indeed a professor at "Einstein Medical School" (or the Albert Einstein College of Medicine), confirming Mr. Rocco's garbled claims.
