Emma, I don't think I've ever been in your home. When would this have been and what do I need to return?

Best,
Mike in M.

Your voice has, at least! That call was excellent and freaked me out. To answer your question: I have been missing some petty cash and my childlike sense of wonder and innocence since Tuesday.

Aww... I'll take partial credit for that... thanks!

Your story was amazing. A sterling first call. Keep up the great work!

Thank you, Samir!  :D

I just listened to the archive and realized how terribly nervous I sound -so many "um's"!

Mike had made the comment afterward about getting a refund --and Therese was right, there were no refunds. Only an frustrated guy in a polyester suit asking if he could sleep on our couch. For those of you who weren't in the chat that night, JT ended up staying the night on my friend's couch - the one that felt fully responsible for starting all of the trouble with her dog-related question. This friend and I had seen the TFSP about year prior and during that time the (now deceased) dog was on tour with them. All of the audience members were seated on the floor during that particular show --kind of like kindergartners listening to story time. My friend was the lucky audience member that got to have the dog sit with her during the entire show.

It's hard to imagine that his wife and daughter found him so insensitive to the situation that they cancelled the show and made him find another place to sleep in the middle of a tour, but it happened!

I bought a concert tee before the show started and I still can't bring myself to wear it. Just brings back awkward memories.  :-\

Most of the callers were ladies this week. The giggly variety.

Highlight: Hours of laudatory talk about train travel foiled at the last moment by Fredericks' tragic train accident tale.  There was something very poetic about it...the conversation, like the train in Fredericks' tale, got totally derailed.  I was laughing...hard.

Lowlight: Dear Julie, one of my favorite callers, sounding like she drank an entire handle of Wild Turkey before calling.

And not a lot of callers this week. I am an hour and a half into this week's episode, and the only callers I think have been young Milo and you so far. No wait -there was the guy who claimed to see Mike throwing a tantrum at the Ted Leo show.

Which is fine, BTW, because I'm enjoying Tom discuss his train travels. Makes me want to travel transcontinental, except for that Friday through Monday is an awful long time to be stuck talking to Bernie Goetz.

Three Way Tie:

* Pastor Josh insta-gomp (term c/o FOT Chat)
* Julie From Cinci "I am having a severe trouble"
* Fonpr train-story flaming baton into the finish-line ribbon

I can't choose, honestly.

Perhaps I will listen then.

Imagine being on a train filled with tea-partiers. That's the only people I know who still take trains. That is enough to keep me away from trains.

I fear you will find me unsatisfying as a giggly lady.
