I suppose the 8 feet of water would at least slow you down a bit before you slammed against the bottom.

Steve,

If you arch your back you don't even get close to the bottom.

Must hold your hands together and pierce the water.  Otherwise, it feels like getting hit on top of the head with a 2x4.

I learned the hard way.

Yeah, the paddling story involving the paddler cracking the paddlee's bagpipe-music-cassette-filled hinder

Mike's story about the young version of himself setting off of the chlorine gas cloud in his neighborhood serves as some sort of chilling prologue to Don DeLillo's White Noise.

Depravity's Rainbow got JAMESED!!!

I totally recognized "Stan's" voice before he did the deed. I totally knew what was gonna happen before it happened. It was still great, though. Hats off to James. I think he should call NPRs "Talk of the Nation" next.

For Therese and Be The Boy and anyone else interested,

She said a 2006 study found that talking on a cellphone posed the same risk as driving while intoxicated, even if the driver was not holding the phone. "Driving while distracted is roughly equivalent to driving drunk," she wrote.

"In 98 percent of people, reaction time suffers dramatically," Ship said in a telephone interview after making sure the reporter was not driving during the call.

LDP's timing is so great that it's hard to believe he's just a caller.
