Y'know, I'm sure Tom just came up with the analogy off the top of his head, but it turns out Benny Bell has more in common with Luther Campbell than you'd think.  This guy was an animal: http://popdose.com/rob-smith-cant-say-no-benny-bell/

"‘Twas at a game of rummy
She called me a dummy
I punched her in the mouth because that makes me mad,
She lifted her umbrella
So I kicked her down the cellar
And broke the nicest girdle that she ever had."

What the fuck?

What the fuck?

"I’ll cut her hands to ribbons
And throw them to the dogs
I’ll grind her legs to chopped meat
And feed it to the hogs
But her ugly face I’ll keep home
Revenge is sweet, all right
I’ll slap it every morning
And pinch it every night"

WTF, indeed.

Best: "Bet you didn't think I was going to call in tonight, didya?" - Milo

The evolution of Milo has been an amazing transformation that WE ARE ALL WITNESSES to.  Milo is a piece of clay that forms itself.  Not a single what?! during the entire conversation.  My only complaint was that The Kid gomped a kid for using a term of endearment!

I'll go back and check.  I swore I heard at least one What.

No man though.

My personal favorite moment was getting called "you ghoul" by Tom and getting my first "heave ho!"

That was a GREAT call.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I didn't take this in so well the first time around (sometimes I get super sleepy in the 3rd hour esp now that it's 11pm) but I loved John from Brooklyn's call - he brought up Iggy Pop's Florida residency ... Tom's off the cuff attempts to best "Skull Ring" were awesome: "you gotta smash 'em down/you gotta throw it around", as was John's response: "I just got a bloody nose hearing that!"

More last hour stuff:

The Young Col Sanders' attire kills me - Dokken Shirt, sneakers w/no socks, etc - since every time I run in McCarren Park, I'm dodging guys who are seriously wearing that very uniform. Yesterday afternoon I saw this same outfit, except the dude was wearing a Motley Crue shirt instead of a Dokken one. I'm not entirely sure if the dudes in Dokken are a-holes, but I'm very sure it's well documented that the guys in Motley Crue are horrible people. How you make it okay with yourself to wear a Motley Crue tee-shirt even ironicly I have no idea.

Also, always love shots at the Turkey's Nest. Again, why you would go there even ironicly I can't fathom. I think you'd get crabs from touching the handle on the front door. I'm sure the owners love that among their clientele there is no shortage of dudes who could photoshop a certificate from the NYC Board of Health saying the Turkey Nest passed inspection.

Also, what would the flag of the Commonwealth of Juggalonia look like?

He shouldn't be. Dave has the voice of an East Tennessee gentleman and my accent is genuine North Alabama Hill-Trash.

In the "Thunderdome of Genteel Southern Charm", I'm afraid Dave's would be the accent to leave alive.

I am not sure I can recall Agent Fresh's accent, but I am sure that like most southern accents, it goes down smooth like barrel-aged whiskey.

I listened to my own call and I think my bmore accent is getting the better of me. 5 years back in this city and that accent is STRONG.

I just want to see a gang of mustached hipsters screaming Dinosaur Junior lyrics throw a garbage can through a pizzeria window. It should be some sort of upscale brick oven pizza... and I'm hoping the garbage can has some ironic bumper stickers on it... it still makes me laugh...

Since when has anyone who ever listened to Dinosaur Jr. cared about the lyrics?
