Don't know where to put this but here is an excerpt from an interview with NY Times reporter Michael Powell  that struck a Best Show chord:

"On covering the president:
Obama’s a very challenging cat to cover."

Maybe an ice-pick pack?

This reminds me that when a few weeks back, Luther Campbell remarked that Bill Clinton was a "cool cat," I half-expected Wurster to leap in with "So is Obama!" just to needle Tom.

I thought JW's callback to Mike Jackyl / Punk / Dischord was pretty great.

At the end of the show (between SC guy and Paul's call), someone called with a "Simpsons" moment, or something along those lines.  Tom said "What is this, the Paul Goebel show?"

I had to look it up, but Tom was referring to this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Goebel.  I didn't know his name beforehand, but I like knowing that Tom knows his name, and I like that I now know his name, too.

That article has got to be toeing that "worthy of inclusion on wikipedia" line.

He also had minor roles on numerous movies, including Not Another Teen Movie.

Why?

I think you mean

Thank you.  Apparently the all-mighty Wiki goes apepoop when faced with a period.  I changed it in the earlier post

"Mooo-ooon-lit night"

the show always gives me a few grins and a few chuckles but that was the first laugh out loud I had since Tom previewed Evan's show by saying he would have a scientologist on instructing you on how to make a homemade e-meter

Best moment was the three part anti-Spike guy -> Spike -> JW jam near the beginning of the show, then Tom riffing on Spike's NBC jingle tonic.

I listened to this again and the anti-spike guy kind of sounded like Spike. same rhythms. more-so than the guy who Tom thought was LDP doing a voice sounded like LDP
