One of the worst weeks ever for Tom, but one of the greatest Best Shows of all time for the FOTs.

Christ-like?  I think so.

the 'i just wasn't made for these times' thing almost made me cry.

(edit: had to get the song title right, at the very least)

I didn't get to listen to tonight's show yet but did Dave From Knoxville call in? Im anxiously waiting for a Patton Oswalt and Amy Mann concert story.

Not a huge moment, but "Mort Maron" made me crack up.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Me too. And I hope the universe is done taking a whiz on Tom's head. From the tone of the updates even before the show he was having a shitty week, and then to get in a car accident? Good lord. It's like Act 1 of some crazy epic.

I'm only about 45 minutes in at this point, but I do so love Angry Tom. Condolences on your rough times, Tom, but at least you're using it as fuel for the Best Show Chump Steamroller.

I hope Tom is feeling better after last night's show because I know I am feeling better after listening. Last night was amazing from start to finish. I'll probably listen to it several more times before next week's episode.

I liked Buster Poindexter's pompadorf, the E.L. Fudge with Mort Maron, and the question about whether Joe Rogan does his stand up in a gi.

The movie that Todd Barry is shooting sounds kinda awesome, that "vampire comedy type situation" directed by Amy Heckerling, where he's Sigourney Weaver's assistant, I think he said?

Also Laurie & Wurster!

FUDGE FLING.

MORT MARON.

GRUMPY JOHNNY CARSON.

EVERYTHING EVERYONE ELSE ALREADY SAID.

And yes, "comedienne."

The first live Best Show to which I have listened since baseball season started. So glad I did, I really needed the free laughs.

Wes' comment about Todd Barry calling in from the last 2 minutes of 'Living for the City'.

Also Laurie and Wurster. Spent most of the Laurie part wondering who was doing an impression of her.

This post is a spoiler if you haven't listened to last night's show already.
The best was the intricate lead in to the night's ultimate moment:
Lisa Jane Persky reveals details of her film career, + she was in Peggy Sue Got Married +
Laurie from Miami reveals her secret liaison= Laurie from Miami got married.
The genius is in the details.

the 'i just wasn't made for these times' thing almost made me cry.

Agreed! Guessing it won't show on the podcast since he went through the whole song with it playing in the background. Has to be a way to get it, though; the emotion in that voice! Finally a reissue of Pet Sounds worth owning!

I think there have been other songs where talking/singing on top has stayed in the podcast intact. I also said "awesome" in the middle of it, like an idiot. I couldn't hear that he'd put on the record when I was on the phone; I thought he was singing on his own. Tom was really belting it out.
