I don't know which I like more:  the joke that Springsteen was obsessed with The Facts of Life and would sing the theme song while making his album The River, or the idea that the Boss would wear children's under-roos to sing in a higher register (*just as Bob Dylan did when he made Nashville Skyline.*)

"Rooster Corgborn" killed me last night.
That got me, too. Also a big fan of "Hell's Bells", which (along with True Grit) is a favourite of my Dad's. He always used it as a general exclamation, where Tom's seems more "to Hell with it", but still. Hell's Bells!

->"We're about to fly into a magical place for three hours where we will enjoy each others company as only we can over the radio. The bond that you and I have, which you are projecting onto me. I know none of you. You think you know me; you don't. I am your best friend, though, for three hours, before I return to my real life where I will ignore all of you for the next...6 days and 21 hours."

->"When I tell you the things I went through, you'll get out your crying rag."

->The console-shaking rage before the Laurie "Heave Ho."

Jason from AL, I always love when you pop up on the show.

I always enjoy when YOU pop up on the show, Auntie.

Jason from Alabama is STRONG rookie of the year contender material. And Auntie Christina is, of course, the best.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I thought the Old Man was Milo as well.
Still, those two calls were phenomenal.  Almost Wurster-esque.

And the Stephen Jennings was equally as great.
If honesty changed the hearts of men, who could contend? If all I thought were true, in this great divide that is my life, I fear to think of all that I'd undo, if all i thought were true.

The set up that led to the Robert Trujillo joke about not being able to find a basketball jersey that was specific to the era?

Comedy gold and probably the longest set up in comedy history.

Also: Old man little kid was not funny at all, sorry.

What was funny about it was the fact that avuncular Tom entertained/humored the kid's conceit so that he could test the limits of the kid's imagination and perseverance.  It was like the marathon-version of "Kids Say the Darndest Things".  It wasn't funny because it was just "a kid pretending to be old".

(And I have to say--  it would've been hilarious if Cosby stringed-along a kid on that show to a point where the kid and the audience were starting to feel uncomfortable.)

Old Man/Little Kid was a highlight among highlights. "Right back atcha" was the hardest I laughed all night.

Fair enough. I was rather confused by what the set up/premise of the joke was supposed to be. It was funny in a sense that it was mildly awkward, but that's about it.

The 93-148 year old kid calling in to relay messages to the wife he may have poisoned.

I was losing it listening to these calls.

Chipmunk money.

Pipe in the casket.

Incredible.

I always love when they make up something so stupid that Tom loses it during the call and it's usually about murdering people ... Bruce invents a shirt that you drive & he loses control of it during a test drive ... the shirt broadsides a tour bus and decapitates like 30 fans.
Remember how he couldn't stop his leg?
