That has to have been the same guy. His voice is pretty unmistakable.

I laughed when he said "'Heave-ho,' huh? That reminds of me of, like, pirates! Walkin' up and down the deck sayin' 'Give 'em the heave-ho!' You like that?"

Oh, I nearly forgot ... did anyone recognize Bob, that weird dude who called twice several months ago? I think on his first call I was queued right behind him - I think I said on air that he sounded like Jackie Vernon. Like, more of a pixilated rather than a drunk guy? This time out he said he's never called, but I'm pretty sure it was him.

He's the Dave Brubeck guy, right? He wanted Tom to play some Jazz of the Dave Brubeck flavor. Did he also tell Tom he had cancer? Is this the same guy? He's called at least twice before.

Yep.  He likes to say his name is "Joe".  I heard him suggest Tom "Spurling" may be a misogynist on Night People a while back.

There haven't been enough cigarettes produced in the world, ever, for that guy possibly to be only 50 years old.
"Is this me?"

I have to admit that I had to look up YouTube-based evidence that Tom's joking at the expense of Boston's live concert experience was rooted in something real. I was not disappointed:

Boston More Than A Feeling

I love the shot that starts around 3:10 of the band sort of standing there looking in different directions, and then they all sort of start wandering aimlessly like someone who's lost in a shopping mall.

That crowd is SO ready for the baseball game to start.

I wonder if the people sitting in the back are any reflection of people who are watching from the front. Not one crowd shot from the front, looked like they were playing to an empty stadium. I can't explain it, I like this music somehow...there is some amount of shame involved. Mostly nostalgia I guess, my older sisters listened to this stuff continuously when it was new. I inherited all of their hand me down music.

Anyway, back on topic...I love it when PFT is on TBS.

Pardon me, but he SHOT the skid of Pampers. Show him some respect.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I guess this means I'm emotionally about 5 years old, but The Foulest Wind made me laugh quite a bit.

The best part about that was that said foul winds were "meticulously" recorded by Merle. That's one thing you can always say about Merle Allin.  He is a meticulous man.

Worst: That really smug guy who called near the end of the show (the one who was worried about being hung up on).

Amazed by the clustering of bad calls tonight, but some of the funniest moments were hearing Tom deal with and lament over the same.

Best: North American Buffet Wreckers Association. The improvised explosion when JW apparently had some technical difficulties with his sound FX. What a trouper.

Best: the whole angle on completely repopulating the Hate Pit. Those who keep track of these officially obviously need to chronicle this installment of the Best Show.   Also, the dog chasing the cat with a cape chasing the mouse with the cape.

The Worst was pretty obvious, but Tom did a great job of making the run of bad callers seem entertaining.  Granted, Entertainment Through Pain, nothing I'd wish on anyone. But that was made into a great show. The Phil Spectorisms peppered about really helped too re: Wall Of Laughs.

Does anyone know what was the date of the show when Tom was first talking about Christie and Corzine? I think it also had a lot of The H-Man and Wally. That was a GREAT show.
