Overall a highly entertaining show.

But Nicole blew my socks off.

She needs to get in the studio where she can really cut loose.

Really, Fredericks?

I totally forgot about Steve from North Weirdowood! You would be a lot of fun at karaoke.

I only caught the second half of the show-- haven't heard Spike do his thing yet. I'm kind of excited and scared to hear it.

To better prepare any bedroom rockers, tribute bands, and/or future Depravity's Rainbow hopefuls, there are five chords in "Mike on the Mic" (a.k.a. The Mike Show Theme), not two, as Dave from Knoxville suggested.

To channel the late-great Mel Bay for a minute...

There's one chord for the first set of verses plus a moving note.  Two chords for the chorus. But on the last set of verses after the guitar solo, there's a surprise two-chord hook snuck in there to give the whole thing a twist before hitting the final interlocking "Mike on the Mic" anthem chorus.

Here's the Mike on the Mic breakdown:

FIRST SET OF VERSES
E-chord root with a moving hi D-to-hi E-to low E note at the end of each vocal line

The Mike Show is on the air!
You say you wanna compete?

You're matching wits with the master
And he's playing for keeps

You got Mike on the Mic
He's got his very own show

You got Mike on the Mic
Stand back we're telling you so!
you got...

CHORUS chords:
D-D-B
D-D-B
D-E-E

D-D-B
D-D-B
D-E-E

Mike on the Mic
on the Mike Show, yeah!
you got...
Mike on the Mic
on the MIke Show, yeah!
you got...
Mike on the Mic on the Mike Show, yeah!
you got...
Mike on the Mic on the MIke Show, YEAH!

INSTRUMENTAL BREAK
static E chord with overlaid guitar solo

SECOND SET OF VERSES
chords: E root with B flat-to-C at the end of each vocal line then back to E.

The Mike Show is on the air!
Another fait-accompli
Yeah, even movie directors
Are bowing down at his feet

You got Mike on the Mic
You lived to see the day
You got Mike on the Mic
Well fate is funny that way
you got...

FINAL CHORUS

Mike on the Mic on the Mike Show, yeah!
you got...
Mike on the Mic on the MIke Show, yeah!
you got...
MIKEONTHEMIC, ONTHEMIC, ONTHEMIC, ONTHEMIC, ONTHEMIC, ONTHEMIKESHOWYEAH!

In addition to the amazing displays of talent:
- Therese: "Your own PONY?!"
- Slackmistress referring to her husband as "BeTheBoy ...er, Will."
- Will begging Misters Hodgman & Wackiman on Twitter, "Don't make me choose.  Don't be like my parents."
- Imagining Nicole's grandmother being super annoyed by "Climb Ev'ry Mountain."
"I am the shade of a person who was killed in a violent crime, and my spirit lingers here on earth because of the unfinished business that I have in life.  Could you play some Ke$ha?"

Yah, the only part that stuck with me was "Mike on the mic on The Mike Show". So I only played that part.

Plus, can you post the tab to The Revealing Science of God so that I can play it the next time Tom is out? I think it's just the 3 chords.

- Imagining Nicole's grandmother being super annoyed by "Climb Ev'ry Mountain."

My mom and I lived with my grandparents my last 3 years of high school, so when she'd get on my nerves, I would go in my room and sing it at the top of my lungs. She would get it stuck in her head and whistle it and/or I'd hear her doing operatic versions of her own made up songs. She's a pistol. Funniest lady I know.

Man, I got played last night in the oldest radio trick in the book. This protege stuff is going to be the death of me. I now understand why someone said that I'm the "Bababooey of The Best Show" in the chat. I'm super happy to have been victimized in a prank like that and I will do my best to redeem myself.

The I'M EGYPTIAN stuff was an instant classic.
