I have a question/segment request for the Podcastin' guys. Does anyone know how to contact them? Hopefully they got enough donations to get a hotmail address.

I would like to request that "Jiggle the Handle" (with Gary St. Cloud) invites the "shop for a coffin" guy onto their show as a special guest.

THIS HAS TO HAPPEN.

It could have been left at the opening strums of Closing Time and it would have been an incredible parody, but it just kept going and getting better and better. I'll single out the silent question mark after Podcastin' as a favourite moment.

Great call from Gregg over in Protégé land - we're surely looking at a G vs G finalé. É.

And the caller who talked about enduring a mutant co-worker who made the caller look at the smut picture of him and his wife ... and then proceeded to assume the caller was non-heterosexual because he didn't like looking at that picture. I feel badly for the caller that he had to put up with that ... but wow, that mutant co-worker is Straight Outta Newbridge.

That was me! I can promise you it was real, though it wasn't his wife - just his on/off again girlfriend, who at one point he thought he'd gotten pregnant. I will often describe that guy as "You know those people on Jersey Shore, who you see and wonder 'what did those people do before this?' That was it." I'd go into more details about that job, but it would just seem more and more fake, which somehow it wasn't.

Also, I don't think it was mentioned, but hearing Spike call Tom "babe", and then "Why am I just letting you call me babe?" made me lose it.

Is there anything funnier than the powerful late-1990s emotions of Closing Time? That's one of the bands Mother 13 remind me of, because both arrived on the scene with unjustified comparisons to R.E.M.

I cracked up at the line about the PayPal account set up to defray the expenses of Podcastin'.

I know Tom insisted is was no specific but i couldn't help but think Closing Time was a little dig at Comedy and Everything Else and it's terrible Weezer song.

Does anybody else hate the opening theme to Never Not Funny as much as I do? "Please don't take it personal ... get the eff out of my way ..." Ugh. That song is the worst.

C&EE's Weezer theme doesn't bother me nearly as much as the dude hissing "This is Daaaave from NewYORK" in that quasi-Jack Nicholson voice during their opening promo. I always wind up cringing each time it ambushes me, since it leads off the promo, and I never know exactly where to start forwarding past it.

To keep it positive, I always thought Reggie Watts' Comedy Death Ray theme was great. (As is Reggie.)

He brings something new to the theme every week when he sings it.

And he's generous enough to fly into LA for each weekly performance!

One of the funny things about using "Closing Time" is that there's a "Yeah!" in it that kept coming in at appropriate moments.

Worst part: "Closing Time" being stuck in my head.

It's coming: Old Rocky Top (DfK) vs. the Alabamy Comet. Southern brother against brother. Texas death cage match?

As Spike would say "NAH!"

Dave is the original Best Show Southern Gentleman. I'm not worthy to tune his guitar. My comet will most likely burn out long before his teapot stops whistling.

I wish him nothing but the best. Besides, he's suffered enough: he's a Vanderbilt fan (and lives in Vol-Central.)

I'm happy to battle it out with a current Best Show listener/caller in Portland to keep up this Seattle/Portland rivalry.

Oh right, there is no regular Best Show caller from Portland. Oh well!
