That one Jesus Lizard some with the throbbing bass and the short, repetetive guitar lines? You mean the song where Dave Yow gargles some sort of lyric? That's my favorite song of theirs...

That said, they were one of the great live acts of their time. If they weren't the great live act of their time...

The comments about rich guys dressing like hobos humored me.  "Keith Richards is king of the Rich Hobos."

I though it was that one dude I see in Salt Lake who keeps bumming a buck off me for a pint of Popov. He has a bezillion dollars, he's just waiting for the check to arrive... Oh, and he's also Jesus...

Come to think of it, maybe he isn't wealthy after all... But he might be Jesus... He certainly smells like he's two thousand years old...

Jason from Alabama giving the name of his preferred burrito restaurant as a way for local FOTs to find him.

Best moment:

"Oh wait, that one guy has crazy white sunglasses. HE seems interesting. At least there's one interesting person on this boat. I wonder what his story is. Oh, he's got nailpolish on!" - Tom

loved it.

I was hoping to hear if there was an Ian Svenonious encounter on the Bruise Cruise, 'cause he's totally a nice dude and I think he and Tom should be friends.

I was dissappointed. He teased at that a few weeks ago.

That's actually one of the few songs by them where I could give you the name just from hearing the opening riff:

The Jesus Lizard - Mouth Breather (studio version)

(I put the URL in quote marks so this thread wouldn't be sullied by the image of David Yow being David Yow).

Tom taking the Chicago caller (Liz, I believe?) to task for touting the city's higher-than-the-national-average toughness percentage. I hear that a lot in my town too. I felt bad for her since she originally called to apologize for a past insult, but the whole thing was pretty funny once Tom got rolling with it.

It was not Liz, it was Sarah. And as a Chicagoan, I curse her.

Sarah's backed...

Jason from Huntsville was the best caller of the night, after the wurster bit.

I fumbled my bit about Chicago being a tough town by noting that "We play 'Pele' with paint cans." I meant to say "We play Jai Alai with paint cans."

I'm taking like...5 years off from calling in.

my favorite part of your call was when you groaned about "curated" rock shows...that's a personal pet peeve of mine, its the worst combination of pretentiousness and self indulgence.
Can I use the "F-word", Tom?

Personally, I give ATP the pass on "Curated" since they got the ball rolling, but it's seriously become such an abused word.

are record playing nights "Curated" now?

I supposed Casey Kasem wants some dough now for curating my Saturday afternoons as a child.
