"I was in the shower and it occurred to me why the Hendersons named their guest "Harry."  That movie has layers!" ~ Jack Doneghy, 30 Rock.

Sarah's backed...

Jason from Huntsville was the best caller of the night, after the wurster bit.

I fumbled my bit about Chicago being a tough town by noting that "We play 'Pele' with paint cans." I meant to say "We play Jai Alai with paint cans."

I'm taking like...5 years off from calling in.

my favorite part of your call was when you groaned about "curated" rock shows...that's a personal pet peeve of mine, its the worst combination of pretentiousness and self indulgence.

And yet All Tomorrow's Parties in the mountains of New Jersey was fantastic. Huh!

Personally, I give ATP the pass on "Curated" since they got the ball rolling, but it's seriously become such an abused word.

are record playing nights "Curated" now?

I hear a lot of people referring to 'curated RSS feeds', which somehow sounds a lot more annoyingly pretentious.

Never been a huge fan of this use of "curated" ... another one I see a lot (I feel like I've mentioned this elsewhere on the board-sorry if so) is "well edited" ... used to describe the wares a shop has to offer. I often see this in new store listings/reviews in Time Out or New York Magazine.

"Porn stars don't win Emmies, LOVEY"

I love sparring with Scharpling. That's a good name for a show: 'SPARRING WITH SCHARPLING' .

Not too shabby, but it's no 'Weirdos Exposed'.

If Tom Scharpling is like Bugs Bunny, then Spike is his Daffy Duck.

One of the only characters who ever outsmarted Bugs Bunny was that turtle who raced him. Who would that be?

That was pre Chuck Jones Bugs Bunny, right?

Well anyway: I think you're going to have to ask Tom who his turtle is.

It was a Tex Avery short from the early 40's. I also vaguley remember some gremlin character who kept giving Bugs trouble.

The key lines in Bugs' defeat:

"I said, 'I was doin' a hundred easy!'"

"OK, officer, do yer duty."

I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

I liked the slow guy who said he liked the show because of its slower pace. I have a feeling we'll never hear from him again, though.

Jason from Alabama giving the name of his preferred burrito restaurant as a way for local FOTs to find him.

"I take all my meetings at the Bandito Burrito"

I was making someone who had never heard the show before listen with me on a long drive yesterday. She was just sort of into it the whole show, and then had to pull over from laughing when Jason said "Bandito Burrito." A+ call.

I just assumed "pele" was some ancient Celtic sport played with human heads.
