Best:

-"now i know how Kid Rock felt"
-"jump in a lake!"
-"that was the jerkiest things i've ever said"
-"Animal Collective? sounds like somebody left a Beach Boys album out in the sun." (PERFECT and hilarious description)
- any talk of Record Store Day is a good thing
- Taking the Grateful Dead to task? Awesome.
- that Mr. Belvedere "wesley" impression was amazing.

Yet another great one.

Two things that always make me laugh somehow made me laugh even harder last night: John Pinette (I provide this without context, in case anyone hasn't heard the show yet) and this week's Garrison Keillor talk, most especially Tom as Garrison Keillor: Crooner and Keillor's weirdly in-depth discussion of the difference in his peeping style vs. that of his good friend and second story man James Ellroy. I still someday hope for a Scharpling-voiced meeting between Keillor and George Lopez or Keillor and Hulk Hogan.

I was also glad to hear these protégé creeps take some heat. The nerve of these people.

"Whould'a thunk?!"

Worst part: I don't know, probably Chris L.
This may be the year I will disappear.

Last night's show was probably the greatest solo-show ever. Rat's off to ya Tom.
It was a mixed bag of callers but Tom really made it work. So here is the list:
  • Kid Rock getting a tattoo = Kid Rock working out
  • Cheech impression
  • George Lopez impression
  • Adam Corolly = folksy Hitler
  • "Fast and the Furious"-talk and meathead  impression

Tom's impression of people shovelling ice-cream into their face.

I described Person Pitch to a friend as sounding like 'The Beach Boys underwater' - and I like Panda Bear/AC.

Beach Boys underwater, or left out in the sun--both of those sound like something I'd want to hear.  But I pretty much can't stand those guys.  They need to be told that if they want credit for doing Beach Boys-style harmonies, somebody really has to start coming up with some harmony parts.

I'll second the hilarity of the Grateful Dead unfair band review. Particularly hilarious was Tom's wish to put his head on a train track after listening to the original mix of Aoxomoxoa.

Merriweather Post Pavilion had a little of that and that EP that was released a couple of months later that I thought was better than Merriweather had some nice harmonies in it. I think Panda Bear is the guy in the band who mainly brings out the Beach Boys comparisons than that other guy who yells and screams on most of the songs and that is the majority of AC's catalogue. Person Pitch is a good album though.

I mean...uhhhhhh yeah those guys smell!

I dig their stuff for the most part.  But now that I think of it, I haven't heard Merriweather or anything after.

Anyway, the second-rate Americana music is certainly the worst part of PHC.  Keillor sounds like a preacher who doesn't realize his mic stayed on during a song.
