i'm no fan of cat from raleigh myself (not to the point of making the same entitled and impulsive posts over and over again about how i feel of course) but i'd still take one of their calls over avalanche frickin' bob

Agree about Cat and A. Bob. I'd actually like Tom to put a ban on all regular callers like he did back in the WFMU days. Except for the kid callers. I could listen to Liam every show.

Wow. The Jam got a mention tonight. That caused this to fall out of my ear.

WORST part was when Avalanche Bob called and slammed the brakes on the show.  All the fun from the Michelle the Oreo Head call was sucked right out with his tedious, alternate universe schtick.  Plus, he ONCE AGAIN kissed Tom's ass in the same cloying way that he's been doing for god knows how long now.

I blame Mike - why they hell does he let him through, just to suck the life out of the show???

I like that Tom has love for the weirdos but Avalanche Bob is kind of wearing thin. Spike was always great because there was at least a back and forth aspect. A Bob is kind of like a one way street.

That would have been a picture perfect Bad Company, when Avalanche Bob was going on about his alternate dimension self.

What was the radio show the caller asked about the song called?

Anybody got a time stamp at least?

Best: porno home companion. Hands down. Of course, I am from Minnesota so there may be some bias. I did security at an actual prairie home companion show one time at the University of MN Morris campus when Garrison rolled into town and got to meet him. He was a bit pushy and dickish for my taste.

Worst: Laurie from Miami. I think that is an acquired taste I just don’t have. She just derailed the show whenever she was on. I’m all for old timers (hooray for officer Tom!), but I dunno about this one.
So it goes.

Hard disagree. I miss callers like Laurie. Many/most callers to the show these days are too nervous or green to really bring it. At least Laurie is an identifiable character who is comfortable doing her thing.

I was really happy to hear Laurie from Miami. Like Petey calling in a several months ago, the surprise element was fantastic.

Now if only Spike would call in again...

LAURIE FROM MIAMI!!! You rise when a QUEEN arrives. Plus Officer Tom. The old hall of heroes is coming back. I’m into it.

Also A Porno Home Companion seriously may be one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard on this show. It makes me literally wheeze.
Wailin' the eff outta that vibraslap!

This was a pretty magical show. I especially liked the whole of the alternative-universe radio shows. Loved it all. Tom, team, thank you!
