This was a pretty magical show. I especially liked the whole of the alternative-universe radio shows. Loved it all. Tom, team, thank you!

Dennis's story about the screen coming down in front of W.A.S.P. when they were opening for the Boredoms seriously cracked me up. Someone writing in Chunklet was at that same show and also told the story really well.

I wish I could have been there, because the idea of these hair-metal doofuses opening for the Boredoms and then flouncing is so g.d. funny.

"Don't say it, Dennis! Don't say he had E-cigarrettes for legs!" Cracked me the hell up. Did Tom wager he could say Dennis 50 times in a show? I'd say he did it!

I tried to find the Home Depot/99 cents video but I don't think KicktheBobo's Youtube account exists anymore.

The parallel universe radio shows are so so good. I love them! The weirdness, the interaction with good callers, the formula (interference noise fade-ins and fade-outs, complete with the King Crimson "bit"... It's like after years of John Wurster having been able to try on a full variety of different personas, Tom is finally able to flesh out his... personas. In a way it reminds me of old time favorites like The Party Zone or Coffin Talk. It really makes me want to relisten to the same episode again on the next day.

That's super weird because I saw W.A.S.P. as Slim's in S.F. after Motorhead kicked them off tour, and the screen kept coming down in front of them as well. Blackie stormed off the stage and the show ended. I guess he was a super dick and the staff was fucking with him...

Did Avalanche Bob say Saudi Arabia or Salty Arabia?
Sounds like someone was working as a conduit for nature's natural vengeance.  Just like Jesus.  And some of the others.

"Tonight's topic: what kind of whip should I get for a whip fight?"

I shriek-laughed at this! Whip Talk is the best!

Oh my god, this is the best. I love that Blackie Lawless would 1. try to big-time anybody, and 2. do it to such a degree that club staff would wreck a W.A.S.P. show.

I have a suggestion for a topic, but couldn't find the right ave.

Topic:

Best American President Band

Which American Presidents would start a band?  Who would play what instrument (obviously Clinton would be on Sax, but maybe he has a secret obsession with the theremin)? What kind of band would they be?  Where would be their favorite venue? They could be living or dead (extra points for living). EDM HW Bush, Surf Rock Eisenhower, post Punk Jimmy Carter... I don't know, could be good.

I've really liked almost all of the alternate universe radio shows but Whip Talk is on a whole different level. When he was explaining what a Black Jack was I was just dying. So good!
