Best moment in last night's (7/29) show:

Tom's absolute delight in Spike's participating in the topic.

Yes, that was great! He was so surprised.

Tom's Oscar caliber performance on the phone with his former shrink.

And they were guests.

I know I'm a little close to the thing, but I enjoyed the call from Jeremy (née James).

But my favorite things were Spike's second call and Jason Woliner's use of "The Strangers" as a verb: "We've been Stranger'd."

Every time Tom's therapist said "You're getting sleepy" inappropriately and with absolutely no effect.

Now I badly want to say that to people in the middle of heated debates.

Yes, this was one of my favorite moments ever. One of my favorite things is when Tom gets angry inexplicably at something.

The public/private call from Tom's therapist seemed conceptually brilliant to me.  I can only assume that they were deliberately teasing someone/something, but in order to suppose who is being teased violates the spirit of the bit.  If you were to consider it, you cross the line and the joke's now on you too.  A+

Tom's therapist: "Welcome to Couch Talk...can you turn down your radio?"

Tom's therapist: "That's why I was on that side of the couch."

I agree. Way different than most of the bits on the show. It worked flawlessly - especially when Jon started taking calls. Great show.

I really liked the way Tom described Evan Funk Davies' upcoming show.  He always has a good couple lines to describe the next show, but that night it was really really funny.

That's one of my favorite bits.  Except the night that he mentioned that EFD was going to spin Allen Ginsburg all night, because I was thinking I'd play some Ginsburg on this proposed radio play show.  Ouch!
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.
